Understand the firm s strategic plan and ensure that the firm s business development objectives support the overall plan.
Assist in the development and execution of annual business plans for each practice group of the firm.
Track business development activities carried out by the firm and its members.
Track trends and developments in firm management and new practices.
Track competitor information.
Collaborate with external consultants and service providers (if any) on marketing approach, and maximise business opportunities.
Collaborate with partners to promote their respective practices, identify client opportunities and develop cross-practice service lines.
Track all BD expenditures.
Client Development
Proactively work with partners to target and develop clients in line with the firm s annual business plan and overall vision.
Assist partners with client opportunities (background research, preparation of questionnaires, note taking/ participation in visits with partners, etc.) and track these opportunities.
Assist the firm in the development and execution of its International Referrals (IR) program, identify opportunities for collaboration with international firms and clients and develop marketing materials to support the IR program.
Marketing Materials
Develop materials that can be used to consistently communicate with clients and prospective clients on firm-related news, events and business development initiatives.
Identify and develop marketing materials required by practitioners in the firm.
Conceive innovative ways to engage internal and external clients with products and services.
Credentials
Manage standards and procedures to ensure that the firm s work experience (deals or matters) is collected on a regular and timely basis.
Maintain up-to-date reports on awards, achievements and rankings of the firm.
Prepare comprehensive firm and practice-related submissions to relevant directories and league tables in cooperation with the appropriate practice teams and the administration team.
Conferences and Seminars
Identify, organize and evaluate strategic sponsorships.
Identify, evaluate and coordinate the firms involvement with key memberships in relevant influential organizations.
Identify, coordinate and evaluate speaking opportunities at conferences and seminars.
Help develop content for conferences and seminars.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Criteria
LL.B and/or MBA. Candidates with both qualifications will be prioritised.
At least 10 years of marketing/ business development experience within a professional services environment. Prior experience in similar roles in Tier I law firms will be prioritised.
Competitive intelligence research knowledge.
