Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and well-connected Head of Business Development to drive growth and revenue generation for our brand. The ideal candidate should have strong connections in the food industry, including platforms like Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit, BigBasket, and HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering). This role involves expanding business operations, managing vendor relationships, and scaling our presence in the e-commerce sector.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Expansion Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand business through e-commerce, retail, and institutional sales.
  • Identify new markets, product categories, and sales channels to drive business growth.
  • Create data-driven strategies to improve sales performance across multiple platforms.
  • Work with the marketing and product teams to align branding and sales strategies.

Revenue Generation

  • Identify new revenue streams and opportunities for business growth.
  • Define KPIs and revenue goals to drive business profitability.
  • Identify new revenue streams, such as partnerships with modern trade, quick commerce platforms, and direct B2B sales.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize profit margins.

Industry Networking

  • Leverage existing industry relationships to secure partnerships and business collaborations.
  • Establish strong connections with decision-makers in Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit, BigBasket, and HORECA to enhance product listings and visibility.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and business forums to strengthen professional networks.

Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients and strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and account management to increase client retention.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize client value.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs, concerns, and feedback to improve offerings.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the best pricing and quality.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to secure priority access to inventory and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Optimize procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with company standards.

E-commerce Growth

  • Manage product listings, pricing, and promotions on major e-commerce platforms.
  • Work with a performance marketing team to increase visibility and conversion rates.
  • Optimize order fulfillment processes and logistics for efficient delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to launch exclusive product lines or bundles for online platforms.

Market Research & Insights

  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify gaps in the market and emerging trends.
  • Track customer behavior, buying patterns, and preferences to refine sales strategies.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance product positioning and marketing strategies.
  • Regularly evaluate business performance and implement necessary improvements.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Forge partnerships with leading food and beverage brands, distributors, and key stakeholders to enhance market reach.
  • Negotiate and close high-value business deals to expand market presence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business objectives with strategic alliances.
  • Develop and execute joint marketing campaigns and co-branded initiatives with partners.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in the food industry.
  • Strong network and connections in Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit, BigBasket, HORECA, and related sectors.
  • Proven experience in e-commerce business expansion and vendor management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and business deals.
  • Understanding of FMCG, organic food, and retail supply chains is a plus.
