Position Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Project Manager to assist in the successful execution of construction projects. The Deputy Project Manager will support the Project Manager in all phases of project delivery, from planning to execution and completion, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This individual will play a crucial role in managing resources, coordinating tasks, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.


Role & responsibilities

  • Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in overseeing daily project operations, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate and supervise the activities of project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and alignment of team goals.
  • Budget & Cost Monitoring: Help manage the project budget, track expenditures, and ensure that costs are controlled and aligned with financial goals. Provide regular updates to the Project Manager regarding financial performance.
  • Scheduling: Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules. Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of milestones. Address potential delays and help implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets the companys quality standards and compliance with regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols on the construction site. Promote a culture of safety, conducting safety audits and reporting any issues to the Project Manager.
  • Client Interaction: Support the Project Manager in maintaining effective communication with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring that the clients expectations are met throughout the project.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Assist in the preparation of project reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all aspects of the project, including progress, issues, and updates for senior management.
  • Risk Management: Help identify and address potential risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the projects progress.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in construction project management, with hands-on experience in managing medium to large-scale projects.

Skills


    • Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and quality standards.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar tools).
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
    • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
    • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required.
