Assistant General Manager (AGM)

Position Summary

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our expanding construction company. In this leadership role, the AGM will be responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong passion for the construction industry and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and leading teams.

Role & responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Support the General Manager in supervising the daily operations of construction projects, ensuring the efficient implementation of plans and strategies.
• Project Management: Supervise and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. Manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and staffing needs, ensuring that projects are completed according to quality standards.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and other operational staff. Ensure proper resource allocation, team coordination, and skill development.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors. Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project delivery.
• Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenses. Ensure that projects are executed within financial constraints and report regularly on financial performance.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities are compliant with local regulations and safety standards. Promote a culture of safety across all teams and ensure the necessary protocols are followed.
• Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control procedures 10to ensure that construction work meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular reports to senior management regarding project progress, issues, and outcomes. Ensure thorough documentation for all projects, contracts, and transactions.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the projects, including potential delays, cost overruns, and safety hazards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: A minimum of 15+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role such as project manager or operations manager.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, processes, and regulations.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
