Role & responsibilities

A Business Development Lead in a Domestic BPO plays a critical role in driving business growth, acquiring new clients, and expanding market reach. Their responsibilities include:

1. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Identify new business opportunities in the domestic BPO sector.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and client needs to refine business strategies.

2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Generate leads and convert prospects into clients.
  • Develop strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Conduct presentations and pitch BPO solutions to clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements.

3. Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and business goals.
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Work with internal teams to create customized solutions for clients.

4. Proposal & Solution Development

  • Develop proposals, RFPs, and business presentations.
  • Work with operations teams to design BPO solutions that meet client requirements.

5. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with marketing, operations, and finance teams for smooth business operations.
  • Provide insights on client expectations to the delivery team for service excellence.

6. Brand Positioning & Market Expansion

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking meetings.
  • Build and maintain a strong brand presence in the domestic BPO market.

7. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Track business performance and report key metrics to senior management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.

Preferred candidate profile

Preferred Candidate Profile for a Business Development Lead Domestic BPO

1. Experience & Industry Background

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the domestic BPO industry.
  • Proven track record of client acquisition, revenue generation, and market expansion in the BPO sector.
  • Experience in domestic markets, with a strong understanding of local business dynamics and customer expectations.
  • Exposure to various BPO services such as customer support, telemarketing, collections, and back-office operations.

2. Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • An MBA or relevant certifications in Sales, Business Development, or BPO Management is a plus.

3. Key Skills & Competencies

Sales & Business Development Skills – Strong ability to generate leads, pitch solutions, and close deals.
Market & Competitor Analysis – Understanding of domestic BPO trends and competitor strategies.
Client Relationship Management – Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Negotiation & Persuasion Skills – Strong negotiation skills for contract closures and pricing discussions.
Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving – Ability to identify new revenue opportunities and implement growth strategies.
Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills – Ability to present solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
Team Collaboration & Leadership – Experience in leading sales or business development teams.

4. Preferred Industry Connections

  • Strong network in industries that frequently outsource BPO services, such as banking, telecom, e-commerce, healthcare, and insurance.
  • Prior experience working with decision-makers (CXOs, VPs, Directors) in potential client organizations.

5. Personal Attributes
