Occupational Health And Safety Officer

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Activities

• Develop and enforce company-wide health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead the analysis of health and safety data to identify risk patterns and areas for improvement.
• Design and implement occupational health and safety training programs for employees across all levels.

Operational Activities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
• Keep abreast of new and updated regulations in occupational health and safety and ensure that the airline's policies remain compliant.
• Prepare and submit all necessary documentation and reports to regulatory bodies and ensure that any non-compliance issues are promptly addressed.
• Coordinate with HR to oversee workplace ergonomics and employee wellness initiatives.

Risk Management

• Develop and maintain an OHS risk management plan that identifies all potential hazards, assesses risks, and outlines mitigation strategies.
• Implement proactive measures to prevent occupational diseases and injuries, especially those common in the airline industry, such as musculoskeletal.

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

• Collaborate with HR, operations, and maintenance departments to implement safety measures.
• Coordinate with emergency response teams and medical staff to manage and prepare for workplace health issues

Regulatory Authorities

• Liaise with external health and safety consultants and regulatory authorities

Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements

• Bachelors degree in safety management, Occupational Health, or related field

ExperienceMinimumDesired

• 7 years of experience in a a safety management role within the airline or transportation industry
• 4+ years of experience in safety compliance and risk management

We would like to have people who have OSH qualifications and experience on the lines of

• ⁠ ⁠NEBOSH international Diploma in occupational health and safety.
• ⁠ ⁠Certified ISO 45001:2018 OHSMS lead Auditor course
• ⁠ ⁠NEBOSH international General certificate in occupational health and safety
