Job Description

About the Role:

Uttar Pradesh Tourism is seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Relations Expert/Brand Strategist to elevate its brand presence and attract tourists from both domestic and international markets. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive PR strategies that highlight the rich cultural heritage, diverse attractions, and unique experiences Uttar Pradesh has to offer. This role demands a seasoned communications professional with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong media relationships, crafting compelling narratives, and managing impactful PR campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic PR Planning & Execution:

- Develop and implement a robust and proactive PR plan that aligns with the overall promotional strategy of Uttar Pradesh Tourism.

- Craft compelling narratives and messaging that position Uttar Pradesh as a premier tourist destination.

- Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities to enhance the state's tourism brand.

- Create and manage an annual PR budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.

Media Relations & Engagement:

- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international media outlets, including print, digital, and broadcast.

- Proactively pitch engaging story ideas and press releases to secure high-impact media coverage.

- Organize and conduct press conferences, media briefings, and interviews.

- Manage media inquiries and provide timely and accurate responses.

Brand Development & Management:

- Develop and reinforce the brand identity of Uttar Pradesh Tourism, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.

- Conduct market research and analysis to understand audience perceptions and identify brand opportunities.

- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to develop compelling brand campaigns.

Event Management & Coordination:

- Plan and execute destination-specific events, press trips, and media engagements to showcase Uttar Pradesh's tourism offerings.

- Coordinate logistics and ensure seamless execution of events, maximizing media coverage and impact.

- Coordinate and facilitate media coverage for events.

Digital & Social Media Management:

- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

- Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms. -

- Monitor social media trends and analytics, providing insights and recommendations. -

- Write effective captions for social media posts.

- Crisis Communication & Reputation Management:

- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to mitigate potential PR crises and protect the reputation of Uttar Pradesh Tourism.

- Respond swiftly and professionally to any negative publicity or media inquiries.

- Monitor and manage online reputation and brand sentiment.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:

- Track and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns using relevant metrics and KPIs.

- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate campaign results and insights to stakeholders.

- Provide reports on brand visibility and tourism metrics.

Content Creation:

- Draft press releases, compose official letters, and other necessary communication materials.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Master's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

- Minimum 8 years of proven experience in handling PR, brand development, or publicity assignments, preferably in the tourism or travel industry.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful PR strategies and campaigns.

- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong understanding of social media marketing and digital communication.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong understanding of the Indian media landscape.

- Familiarity with the culture and tourist locations of Uttar Pradesh is a plus.
