Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The HR personnel first gives you a brief description about your role in the company, your CTC, your growth rate, etc... in a neat PowerPoint Presentation. Then you would be asked to sit according to the departments present there.

The interview consisted of 3 different rounds:

1. Written Test
2. Group Discussion
3. Technical HR Interview

Each had to be taken in intervals of 1 hour gap.

1. Written Test
The written test consisted of two papers one was general aptitude and technical combined and the other paper was psychometry test.
The Technical questions covered almost the entire syllabus of Mechanical Engineering through the four years, and had many problems based questions which took plenty of time as I had to recall what I studied in my first year and second year.
On the other hand the general aptitude was pretty easy if you're strong with the basics.
Then the psychometry was pretty nasty, as you have to choose the answers according to your motion of action and behavioral implications.
Only those who clear this round will be eligible for the next round.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: 2. Group Discussion
This round is pretty easy as you would have to speak or argue about a topic that they would choose and spectactulate about the way you converse with others and take control of the matter.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: 3. Technical HR Interview
This is the most difficult round because the Interviewer would shoot out questions rapidly. You must answer them. He would expect you to know all Valve timing diagrams, engine cycles, everything related to diesel engines thoroughly.
Then you must pick a field of interest of your choice. The Interviewer will ask you questions from the topic you give them.
I gave them Machine tools, the following questions were asked:
1. Difference between planner and shaper?
2. Tolerance rates of some tools
3. Different lathing techniques
4. etc..
Then, I was given some A4 size sheets and asked to draw all the diagrams that I knew in the book Thermodynamics by P.K.Nag which is a Bible for Mechanical Engineers. But because of my fever and bad health I was given some time to take breaks during the interview whenever I wanted.
Only when he is satisfied with your answers he will give you an Employee Enrollment Form which happens to be the offer letter.
