I appeared for an interview in Feb 2025, where I was asked the following questions.
Half wave and full wave rectifiers convert AC to DC, differing in efficiency and output waveform.
Half Wave Rectifier: Uses one diode, allows only one half of AC waveform.
Example: Simple power supply for low-power devices.
Full Wave Rectifier: Uses two or four diodes, utilizes both halves of AC waveform.
Example: More efficient power supply for higher power devices.
Half wave produces pulsating DC, while full wave produces
Filtering signals with ripples involves using techniques to reduce unwanted oscillations while preserving desired signal characteristics.
Use a low-pass filter to attenuate high-frequency ripples while allowing low-frequency signals to pass.
Apply a moving average filter to smooth out rapid fluctuations in the signal.
Consider using a Butterworth filter for a smooth frequency response with minimal ripples.
