I applied via Recruitment Consulltant and was interviewed before Aug 2021. There was 1 interview round.

Round 1 - Technical 

(5 Questions)

  • Q1. 1) What skills do you posses to be able to do this job well?
  • Q2. 2) What challenges will you encounter as you go about this role? How would you encounter it?
  • Q3. 3) What is your leadership style?
  • Q4. 4) How do you adapt when you are met with a challenging situation?
  • Q5. 5) In a situation where there is conflict between working through your "Value" or picking a quick win. What would you do?. How do you justify your choice?

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - 1) Know about the company through social media, your own network of professionals/ friends.
2) Know the Job description fully well and how your experiences will enable you to do this role.
3) Do mental visualization and use positive affirmation before the interview. Eat healthy food and arrive at least 15-20 mins before the interview schedule.
4) At the interview, be confident, be succinct in response, Use STAR to answer questions with examples- Situation or Task you have encountered, Actions you took, Results from your action.
5) Ask your questions once the interview is about to conclude.
6) Follow through after the interview by sending a thankyou note after 2 days from the interview.
7) Wait patiently and hold a positive outlook.

Round: Test
Experience: There was an online test having 3 section, one for aptitude testing, one for logical testing and the last one for technical testing.
Aptitude and logical questions were very basic.
Technical questions included : C C++ Java DS DBMS DAA
Tips: For aptitude and logical part, you need to prepare regularly. Nothing comes out of the box, but you just have to be quick in solving the questions.
For the technical part, prepare well by revising your course materials. Basic one word questions are asked.
Duration: 1 hour
Total Questions: 60

Round: Coding
Experience: This round consists of multiple sets of coding. One question per paper. It's on your luck, which question you'll get. Also,net is allowed. You have to complete the code and show it to the invigilator.
Tips: This round is generally not there in placement drives of DELL. It is on your luck.

Round: Test
Experience: Objective based questions covering general aptitude, c programming, algorithms, os, dbms, software engineering

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Candidates are eliminated after each round of interviews. Number of interviews varies from candidate to candidate. However 1 HR and 1 Tech interview is compulsory. Some may have separate tech and coding interviews.

General Tips: The 1st round aptitude paper is not too tough but ensures that not everyone is able to clear the cutoff.
In the tech interview programming questions were easy but OS questions are tricky and interviewer is looking for a candidate with a solid basics.
Skill Tips: Try to score as much as you can in the 1st written round. If you have a good score it will help you during the interviews. Try to score as much as you can in the 1st written round. If you have a good score it will help you during the interviews.
Do not spend too much effort on coding questions. Instead focus on fundamentals of OS, DBMS concepts like paging, threading, system calls etc

Experience: It was constituted of two parts: Logic and DI. Both parts were simple. Questions were CAT type.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Simple C, C++ questions were asked. Technical questions based on internship project were asked. General questions asked to check reaction to sudden stress (for example: Why do earthquakes occur?).
Tips: Courses like DSP (application based) and information systems should be thorough. Knowing 1 programming language is very essential.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Resume based questions were asked.
Tips: Know complete details of your interns, BTP and resume thoroughly.

Round: Interview
Experience: A systematic approach is all what he expects from us. Our approach and our way of thinking is what he observes. An algorithm to solve a single face worked in my case. So called HR interview was more technical and a discussion about the projects mentioned in my resume.
Tips: An overview on problems like sudoku, rubik's cube, chess etc. A proper approach and a structure for solving the problem should be mentioned.

Round: Interview
Experience: Some questions on basic data structures, dynamic programming and recursion.
Tips: Recognize the problem(dp, recursion, etc.). Throw some algorithm.

Tips: There are old Samsung tests available online. The questions are based on the same fundamentals.Coding test focuses more on getting the pseudo code and logic right

Experience: Interview questions were mostly based on projects and skills mentioned in the resume.Be sure to read up on your projects.They asked to explain the code.On the lines of how would I approach the problem of getting faster downloads in cellphones.

General Tips: I got selected because of my projects fit the profile they were looking for. They seemed to like the Olympiad ranks too.Data structures and algorithms basic fundaes, C coding and theory (asked in every profile), Revision of your electives (depending the core specialization)For any communication profile, do not ignore revision of courses and also it was necessary to read up
further as MTechs and MS students have an edge.
Skill Tips: Went through all the literature for all my projects.My courses and projects were all related to Communication Networks and Communication Systems. This background made the questions easier to answer. Majority of questions were about network protocols and network architecture.Started preparing DS&A at the beginning of seventh sem because I had never taken the course. The rest of it can be revised a couple of weeks before the tests start.

 Couple of questions were about the company's on-going work. In-depth knowledge regarding courses related to the profile is necessary.
Tips: Revise courses, Project work. Additional reading is recommended.
