Experience: In quantitative aptitude i dont remember the questing exactly but alsomost all questings are similer to the questions in RS Agarwaal.. In reasoning and analytical section they will ask puzzles and if u read shakuntala devi and jimmers puzzle book it is more than sufficient.. In verbal section they have given around 2 passages and 5 questions for each passage dont waste more time in this section because it is time consuming.. they have given some fill in the blanks questions where we have to search for synonyms and antonyms No technical section was there

Experience: Basically i am from Mechanical back ground they dint asked any questions related to software.... They asked questions like how do you update your self regarding your technical knowledge... have you thought of any innovative ideas recent past..

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In HR they asked 2 situation reaction tests. 1)she asked my hobbies and replied playing cricket... she posed a question to me that if i was appointed as cricket team captain for M-Tech mech team how i select my team.... i answered purely by performance no partiality like that.. but she asked to think more then she answered for the questions as... I alone cannot select the team because in M-Tech there may be more that 500 students so i have to take help from some of my friends and this shows attitude towards team work.... 2) She asked one more question like if i am a boss and there are 5 peoples working under me.. my boss given me one work that has to be completed in with in a month... now it is the last day of month and still 25% of work is remaining how i handle that situation... I answered that I will answer to the boss that from next time i will finish 1 months work in 20 days itself so that we will not be facing this kind of problems next time.. then she told ok....

General Tips: Infosys recruitment wont concentrate too much on technical side... they concentrate on logical and analytical thinking and situation reactions etc... so go through puzzles from shankuntala devi and jimmers... and some analytical and logical sections from RS agarwaal
Dont concentrate on technical questions because they wont ask any technical questions... you must prepare well for the written test and Interview will depend on your logical and analytical thinking and situation reactions.. all the best.. hope i will see you in Infosys next year....

Experience: Shortlist is done based on the result of the test conducted. The test consists of two parts basic quantitative skills and a short essay to test your English

Experience: Interview was held in two rounds. No technical round is held. One should be prepared for basic HR questions, your understanding of your projects etc.

Experience: Candidates with CG equal to or higher than 8.0 were selected.

Round: Test
Experience: It was divided in 2 sets of 45 minutes each.
Coding: To write a function to find if a string is palindrome or not. 
Verbal+quant: These were CAT model questions.
Duration: 90 minutes

Round: Interview
Experience: There were 2 rounds of this interview. Both were HR and questions based on resume and some general questions were asked.
Tips: I think I was selected because of my CG, coding skills and communication skills.

General Tips: If you're preparing for core, make sure you start revising your subjects soon. Keep your notes and concentrate on structures.
Skill Tips: I started my preparations in November by going through case study material available in lan and solving CAT questions.

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Fundae session by seniors and a resume workshop by some company. Also, sent resume to some seniors for their opinions and I think this was an important part of it.
Tips: I suggest Pre-placement talks, are a must. What is more important is not to believe the PPTs completely and ask seniors about the level of fundaes (finance/tech/otherwise) and preparation required to crack the company. There is a lot of good material on ATKEARNEY and other website. Other than that I used the material available for years.

Round: Interview
Experience: Final offers in my division were 12. There were two levels of case interviews. The first interview was to judge if I would be suitable for the Strategy and Operations profile or for the Technology and Integration profile. There were two interviewers. They explained to me both the profiles and asked me what I wanted to choose and why. Then asked me some general HR questions like why consulting, why you etc. Then started off with an informal case study. It was about a new company which wanted to start a new low cost airline and had no experience in this market till now. It has two options: either to acquire an existing company or to build up all processes on their own. I was first asked to qualitatively mention what all aspects I would consider. After that they asked me what new things could this company do. They were pretty satisfied with my answers and I was confident of getting listed in the next round. In the next round there was single interviewer who was looking quite senior. Asked some HR questions. One case study about a consumer durables dealer which was again qualitative. Asked some HR questions that's it.

General Tips: Lack of interaction with seniors throughout IIT stay was one thing for which I had to pay. I had no seniors in my wing and I had no fundae of the amount of preparation required.
So make sure that you have certain information.

Round: Test
Experience: 4 modules :
1. Computer Programing :- Code is given,we need to find output, basic questions in Java, C, Data Structures, DBMS.
2. Quantitative Aptitude :- Easy, Basics in Simple Interest, Profit&Loss, Numbers, Logs, Time and Work, Time Speed Distance, Prob, Perm&Comb.
3. Logical Reasoning :- Blood relations, Directions, Data sufficiency, Puzzle, Arrangements (circular & linear).
4. English :- Fill in appropriate meaning, Antonyms, Synonyms, Arrange the sentences, and 2 huge paragraphs (4+4=8 questions).

Out of 2000 members 400 were selected. I'm one among them.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: After 2 days I received mail from HCL (offer letter and letter of intent).
Tips: HR round is to test our communication only..

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: This is the first step of being eligible for the company.It depends upon the eligibility criteria given by the company.
Tips: Most companies ask for 60% right from 10th to the present degree..make sure you have 60% uptil present degree

Round: Test
Experience: This is the first feel good experience in the entire selection process,getting thtough the aptitude and getting shortlisted is the first step which takes us to the other rounds.
Tips: Here managing the time is really important thing..being smart is what all matters...Every  section should be given equal importance as there would be sectional cutoff.
Total Questions: 90 mins

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: The topic is infact related to us in common..we all know about smart phones advantages and disadvantages..i spoke both pros and cons with confidence nd without deviating from topic.
Tips: Utilise the time when u get to speak.Dont be over confident or show attitude towards others or fight with your group people..if anyone is deviating from the topic you hav rights to say in a polite manner.
Duration: 30 mins minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: My interview is combined technical and HR interview which is infact really cool..1 question is related to technical..other logical..next is about my personal life..it went on like this..my interview is nearly for an hour because i am the 1st candidate to attend interview for capgemini after the group discussion
Tips: Be cool..relaxed..make up your mind..have a pleasant smile on your face..dont be tensed..if you dont know anything..just reply sorry sir/maam..be confident..your every move is noticed by them..be polite.

General Tips: This is easy to achieve when you have good communication skills,time management and analytical ability..just prepare yourself with these and be confident

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The written test was quite similar to the typical CAT pattern. It contained sections on Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Mathematics.

Round: Interview
Experience: There were 3 interview rounds:
There were 2 interviewers in the first interview, one was a technical guy and the other was from HR. They asked me a few
very simple puzzles, a few basic programming questions (swapping the value of two variables etc.), questions related to the development cycle of software products.  The HR guy asked stuff like what do you want to achieve in life? Strengths, weaknesses etc.
The second interview was resume based. He asked me about my thesis, internship, various projects, positions of responsibility etc. The third interview was the most important one (and I guess that was the deciding interview). The interviewer started with questions like why finance? Which companies are you sitting for? Then he gave me a case study: “As a banking organization, you have given house loans to a lot of customers. Given the current scenario, you have to profile the customers to which loans have been given based on the chances that they would pay back.” He started with this scenario and as I gradually started analyzing things and proposing models he kept on increasing the complexity saying you don’t have this data, you can’t make that assumption etc. Ultimately he narrowed down it down to a problem which was almost unsolvable. When I got stuck at that he told me that his idea was to just give me a taste of the toughness of problems they encounter in day-to-day business.

General Tips: After spending three or four years enjoying the IITK adventure, one suddenly feels a jolt when he/she arrives in the final year. You find yourself wondering at times, asking yourself the pertinent question, what next? And seriously, the best way to start preparing for placements, GRE, CAT or any other exam for that matter is answering this question honestly. Take a few minutes of your precious time and think what you want to do with your life? Where does your heart truly lie? I know it’s not that easy to decide on this but at least give this a good thought and prioritize your options. Make a list of them on paper if that helps. Once you are done with this, the real planning starts. Take each option one by one and do a truthful analysis of yourself from the perspective of that option. For e.g., say you have CAT as your first priority, and then analyze your strengths and weaknesses from CAT’s perspective. What all areas you need to improve on? How much time and effort would it take? How much time you have got left? By doing this exercise you will really get to know the work that needs to be done and will help you plan for the remaining time.


Resume:
I am sure you would have heard it umpteen times but still I will repeat it to stress the point, take resume making seriously! A good resume would drive your interview in the direction you want it to go, a bad resume on the other hand might end the chances of you even getting interviewed! Start by trying to remember each and every achievement of your life and write it down. Spend a few days on this part till you are sure you have got almost everything. Now write it down properly in formal language in the form of a master resume. This would serve
as a repository of information for all your subsequent resumes. And on top of that, having a fresh memory of your achievements would help you in answering the questions in interviews (especially HR questions). Ideally you should have a separate resume for every company you sit for. The way to do this is make sector specific resumes and edit them accordingly for the different companies of that sector. For example, make a single resume for all the core CSE companies and then you can probably change the list of projects (or their order of appearance) targeting individual companies.

PPTs:
If you are serious about getting job in a company, you cannot afford to miss its pre placement talk. PPT is not only an opportunity to know about the company, but it also gives you the chance to know what the company is looking for. This will give you the basic idea around which you should structure your resume and preparation for that company.
Preparation:
Core Computer Science Companies: All the core CS companies first take a written test which contains questions on C/C++, may have JAVA, UNIX, Algorithms, Data Structures, basics of Operating Systems and Compilers, some questions on basic networking in case the company works in that field. Almost all the companies have a couple of questions in which you are required to write code on paper. Some companies also have a few questions on aptitude, simple maths or data interpretations. You can find the company specific details in the placement feedback guide. This is the major
shortlisting step for core companies, so you cannot take it lightly. You can start preparing by revising the relevant courses you did (like Data Structures, Algorithms, Operating Systems, and Compilers). Practice a few questions available in the various placement preparation guides on LAN. Most importantly, practice writing code on paper. This is something we are not used to and requires some practice. This not only will do you good in the written test, but also help you in the interviews.
Non Core Companies (Finance, Consulting, and Analytics):
The written tests of most of these companies are quite similar to CAT. So if you are not preparing for CAT, get hold of some CAT preparation material for practice. These tests are more speed based than knowledge, so practice is absolutely essential. Revising some basic mathematics (like probability, progressions etc.) would also do you good. Apart from that, you need to have some basic knowledge and understanding of the field the company works in. For example, if you are appearing for a finance company, learn the basic concepts and common terminologies of finance. The least it would do is show that you are sincerely interested in the field the company works in.
