Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: As I am an MBA aspirant so i really emphasised on Resume Building. So, for me personally it is not a tough job. I am part of India's largest Student Run Organisation BLOODCONNECT and hold an important post of Expansion Manager in organisation. I also took part in various Inter-College Business Competitions and won them also. I strongly thinks that building an influential Resume is a must, as it is the first thing which a company sees while selecting an individual.
Tips: I will go step by step-: (For College Students)

1.What goes on a resume?
A resume usually has several sections. These can include the following:
Name and contact information
Objective or summary statement
Work experience
Volunteer and extracurricular experience
Education
Skills

---------> State your objective or give a summary statement
After you list your name and contact information at the top of the page, you can briefly describe your objective. This means that you explain what type of position you're looking for and your employment goals.

-----------> Describe your work experience
You probably don't have a lot of work experience at this point. But anything you've accomplished can show you're reliable and responsible. You can include summer jobs, internships. List the dates you held each position and your job title and briefly describe your most important duties.

-------------> Include volunteer and extracurricular experience
These activities show that you have qualities employers value. Volunteering experience proves you are hard-working and reliable. Being a student athlete or a member of an honour society or serving in a leadership position in a club demonstrates your commitment and leadership abilities.

---------------> Describe your education
As you continue to study, the education portion of your resume will grow. For now, just list the high school you attend. If you've taken any college-level courses, you can mention those too.

-----------------> Highlight your skills
Chances are you have valuable skills to offer an employer. If you can use a computer, know any software programs well, or can program, say so in this section. List any languages you speak. Include any other relevant skills you possess, such as experience editing video or blogging.

-------------------> Watch your writing
The way you write your resume is important. Resumes generally feature clear, short descriptions. You don't have to use full sentences, but you have to be consistent with punctuation. Match verb tenses throughout, using active verbs like "developed," "performed," and "managed."

--------------------> Get feedback
Once you've written a draft of your resume, ask a few people for feedback. Your family and friends can help proofread and catch any mistakes. They may also be able to suggest other experiences or skills you might include.

Round 1 - HR

(2 Questions)

  • Q1. Sharing your experience
  • Q2. Question regarding academic hiring

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I was called by the HR department (Arjun Parashar). Without any JD shared by him he called me to the university for an interview with the VP & HR HEAD. After reaching the university i met Arjun & was told to wait for few minutes in a cabin. After that Mr. Vivek who was the Senior HR manager came & welcomed me asked me if i need anything. Then he started the interview & after that he told me you can leave for the day, we will get back to you. Since after that i have been following up with Arjun who did not even replies to me. After 8 days he shared this message " Hi, thank you for the time & availability, but we regret to inform you that your candidature was not shortlisted further as we are looking for a person who has more experience in university hiring." Rejection is alright. but calling someone for a face-to-face meeting cost a day leave & 80 km driving. When i ask him that " from my Cv you knew my experience then why did you called me for the face-to-face interview then? As Arjun having more than 14 years of experience as a HR & 8 years for experience in Bennett University, he responded in the best way that was ghosting me & not replying on the messages.
Please don't go for an interview without getting any JD for such HR managers. Push for an online interview only because they don't value the time & cost given by the candidate coming for a face-to-face interview. This was my experience as an HR having 7 years of experience in Education industry. Bennett University has made an impression that will last forever.
