I applied via LinkedIn and was interviewed before Dec 2021. There were 4 interview rounds.

Round 1 - Resume Shortlist

Keep your resume crisp and to the point. A recruiter looks at your resume for an average of 6 seconds, make sure to leave the best impression.

Round 2 - Case Study

Dr. Purav Gandhi took my first round of interview, where he asked me to guesstimate a diabetes market in the USA, where he had shared the CAGR and other data required. Throughout the process, he motivated me to dig deeper into the data and analyze the market. It was more of a market sizing case study. The process was smooth where he gave me the liberty to ask as many questions as possible, he was calm, and helped in identifying the solutions where I was struggling.

Round 3 - Case Study

The second round was taken by Zoheb, who happens to be the Director at Healthark Insights. He presented certain concerns about HDFC bank and he asked me to channelize solutions around the concerns - this case was more around core due diligence. Even when I asked for few minutes of my time, and while I was working things in my diary, he patiently waited gave me sufficient time to analyze things and derive at a solution.

Round 4 - HR

(2 Questions)

  • Q1. Questions around educational qualifications, previous experiences, salary, etc. were discussed
  • Q2. Pedigree related questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Management consulting is a hectic career and everyday around 12-14 hours a day are invested to solve client problems. And nothing, but patience is the key. While appearing for interview, you should keep this in mind. If you are unable to arrive at solutions during guesstimate round or case interview, all you need is to be patient and ask for guidance.

I made couple of mistakes in my past - the major of all was to shy away from seeking guidance. But after all, interviewers are our seniors in profession.

Pro-tip: Always ask for which book the interviewers are currently reading, this shall help in getting a gist of 'who' and 'how' things of the seniors in the profession based on their book recommendations.

  • Ans.

Binary Search has a time complexity of O(log n) and is derived from dividing the search space in half at each step.

    • Binary Search is a search algorithm that works on sorted arrays.

    • It starts by comparing the target value to the middle element of the array.

    • If the target value is smaller, the search continues on the lower half of the array.

    • If the target value is larger, the search continues on the upper half of the array.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: First Question, at the start I was not able to answer and he gave me an hint(He asked me the insertion in an array). So, I got the idea for the insertion in Linked List and was able to answer it.
Remaining questions, I was able to answer confidently.
Tips: Take your own time in answering a question and be clear over your answer before telling about the code that you have written.
If you don't know an answer for some question, just keep telling him simple cases(which are valid), so that the interviewer will sometimes try to guide you through the solution.
