Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test consisted of 60 questions for first section and 60 minutes, and 30 technical questions in 30 minutes. They almost asked questions from everything we study. You should have just basics to answer those questions; special preparation can barely help you. Over all the paper was not easy, not tough type.
Tips: prepare english finding errors  and reordering questions and focus on time and work and number system in aptitude. they asked technical questions on almost every section but mainly from  thermodynamics , fluid and refrigeration and air conditioning and machine design.prepare these topics well.
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 90

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There was a panel of 4 Hr's , they all sitting in front of us and after giving the topic they give us a minute to think and then start. we started the discussion but they are not satisfied and in between they said from one student tell the meaning of commercialization , and then we continued at the end they themselves said to one student to conclude the topic , that student did not speak in the group discussion .
Tips: according to me to clear the GD you have to remembered himself to the Hr's so you have to speak a logical points and in continuous intervals , first you should try to initiate the GD , and if you are unable to start then pic up very early , and then at least speak once in between and necessary to speak in last minutes of GD. don't one to one and try to make eye contact with everyone and sometimes slowly nodding of head on others points also helpful when you are not getting chance to speak.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There was only one interview(Tech+HR) with a panel of four members. First thing I’ve got to say about my interview is that it is the best interview I’ve ever had they first asked me introduce yourself as a mechanical engineer .and I was so lucky on that day immediately they asked me my favorite subjects. I said Thermodynamics, i c engine and automobile engineering. then they start qustions from IC engines and they came to manufacturing processes and then they asked questions from machine design and rest of the questions from my resume they asked almost every point from my resume about my training many questions asked from my training and projects that i have done . and they asked some real life situations that can occur in companies like strike and other and asked me for give your decision at that situation and how you convince to employees , so they asked questions almost each subject and HR question too, they can ask anything from what we learn. I advise you to be good at all the fundamentals. Luckily I answered all the questions they asked me except one .I think the process is very fair. Exam was not difficult but can test your depth of knowledge. And my interview was very good. I was so lucky on that day, as I mentioned earlier. The overall process was good and I feel very proud to get in to HERO MOTOCORP ..
Tips: My first suggestion is always keep in touch with our subjects. Because when you go to an interview, they can ask anything. Simply preparing before placements will not help you. You need to have in depth knowledge about the basic fundamentals of everything you study. Most importantly Manufacturing Technology, Automobile Engineering and Machine Design.Learn speaking fluently in English. At times it matters a lot.One more noble suggestion is don’t create bad impression about yourself or the college. Maintain punctuality, be disciplined and etc. Each time you commit an offense the number of candidates they are going to recruit will decrease.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was a good test overall. The Aptitude test consist of 20 questions of each Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability & Critical Reasoning, a total of 60 questions in 60 minutes. The Technical test consist of 30 questions in 30 minutes almost from all the topics. As I was from Industrial Engineering & Management Stream I faced some difficulties in solving the questions as the core mechanical subject are not to us in details at our college. Mostly the questions were from Machine Design(Shafts, Rivets, Keys) Strength of Materials (Bending Stresses in Beams, Columns & Struts), Heat Transfer, Production Technology, Material Science and IC Engines.
Tips: For Aptitude Tests, do regular practice of all the online questions on Ambition Box itself or indiabix.com or lofoya.com (best). The technical questions are based on your past 4 years of study. You must know the subjects in detail. And If you are from Industrial or Production Engineering, you have to cover almost all the core subjects of mechanical engineering.
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 60+30

Round: Problem Statement
Experience: It was a group discussion and this problem was given to a group of 9 persons. They gave some time to read the problem and after that we have to discuss among ourselves that what should be the best alternative. My friend started the discussion and after that I followed and takes the discussion forward. But after sometimes, the atmosphere heated up and everyone started ranting and no one was able to speak during that. Then in the last everyone was asked to write the best solutions in one line on the paper and the papers were exchanged and the solutions were interpreted by the panelists. The Overall experience was good as I was able to speak up my points in the starting and I got selected through.
Tips: Please let everyone speak in the discussion round. It's not like that whosoever speaks first gets selected. Everyone got the chance to speak in the end by the panelists. So don't panic and wait for your chance to speak and speak with confidence.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Round 1 consisted of a test (both aptitude & technical) & a psychometric analysis. The difficulty level was low and with a little bit of preparation of subjects such as Machine Design, SOM & manufacturing processes, it could be cracked.
Tips: Do read the books! Mainly SOM, manufacturing, Thermal Engg. (IC engine & automobile engg for automobile sector)

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Round 2 consisted of a GD alone. Our topic was “Smart cities is just a dream or could be a reality.” They were thoroughly judging the candidates in this round as the same HRs were taking PIs too. I would suggest to behave well and maintain the decorum of a GD. Most of my batch mates were shouting and none of them was listening, so I took control and urged them to speak serial wise. Then I gave some valid points supporting the future reality of smart cities.
Tips: Reading newspaper is a must. then watch videos on how to behave in a GD. Speak valid points and let other people speak.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Only one interview was held, which consisted both technical and a bit of HR. I was mainly asked about automobiles and their parts since I had mentioned about my project (Fabricated a Student F1 car) in my cv. Most of the questions were from my cv(about catia). Later the completely shifted to the management side and gave me situations of which I had to suggest solutions. For eg. I was asked what would I do being in charge of operations dept., If the workers under me refused to work siting poor raw material as reason.
I said, I’ll try to convince the workers to continue production, and will report the case of poor raw material to respective departments. In case they don’t take any action, I’ll report the issue to higher authorities.

Tips: Do read the books! Mainly SOM, manufacturing, Thermal Engg. (IC engine & automobile engg for automobile sector). Do read the Newspaper on daily basis for clearing GD rounds. And, improve your communication skills and feel confident.
