5. Keep a Positive Attitude in general. Have an attitude of “I don’t need the company, the company needs me”.
Skill Tips: This company basically needed only 1 MME student was selected - who did both his interns and projects in ‘Modeling and Simulation’.

Experience: Shortlist is done based on the result of the test conducted. The test consists of two parts basic quantitative skills and a short essay to test your English
Tips: Math and Puzzle solving skills are useful They were looking for people with good math skills and team player

Experience: Interview was held in two rounds. No technical round is held. One should be prepared for basic HR questions, your understanding of your projects etc.
Tips: There is no technical round and no emphasis on technical background

Experience: It was divided in 2 sets of 45 minutes each.
Coding: To write a function to find if a string is palindrome or not.

Experience: There were 2 rounds of this interview. Both were HR and questions based on resume and some general questions were asked.
Tips: I think I was selected because of my CG, coding skills and communication skills.

General Tips: If you're preparing for core, make sure you start revising your subjects soon. Keep your notes and concentrate on structures.
Skill Tips: I started my preparations in November by going through case study material available in lan and solving CAT questions.

Experience: 1st round: Panel of two. Asked questions about the projects which were mentioned in the resume. A few questions were asked about the core intern which I did. Asked about the family background.10 got selected in the next round of interviews.
I think for the second round of interviews they selected on basis of CG.
No case studies were asked Just my opinion was asked in certain topics in the second interview which was taken by the partner of the firm. He asked my opinion about construction in India.
I did well in the interview and they liked my story about my projects.
Tips: I think for the second round of interviews they selected on basis of CG.
I started preparing in Mid-November. I think placement is more about yourself. Starting earlier doesn't help.

General Tips: 2nd years: Decide where your interest lies. Have a decent CG at least above 8.
3rd years: Know your interest. Have mock PIs and GDs. 

Be genuine. If you don’t know something just tell them, do not act to be over-smart.Just revise your basic level courses. Revise Contracts, IPM, Construction Management.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Duration: 50 mins.

General Tips:  Have a good number of projects and know each and every aspect of the projects mentioned
 Have the ability to relate course content to the project development
Skill Tips: They were looking for Product Designers.

Experience: The online test was of an average difficulty level. There was sufficient time to complete all the questions on time. and there was a negative marking of 0.25.
Tips: One should be thorough with the basics of english, and quantitative ability. Reasoning section needed a lot of practice so as to save time.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I had a very good experience answering the aforementioned questions as i was confident in all my answers. i did not have a thorough knowledge of c language, So i told the interviewer that i am not adept with programming but i can still try. Hence the interviewer told me that even if i go wrong in programming, he won't be marking me on that basis.
Tips: Always speak the truth whether you know a particular subject or not. This helps the interviewer form an overall idea about you.Put forward your views in a soft and gentle but assertive tone.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR round of interviews was a more general round concerned in knowing the candidate as a person, irrespective of his/ her merits and achievements. It focussed on forming an idea about our personality as an individual
Tips: Be calm, composed and patient in front of the interviewer.

General Tips: One should not be scared or nervous about placements. Patience and confidence should be maintained throughout the recruitment process. Practice placement papers from various websites and also keep yourself updated with current affairs.
Skill Tips: A lot of practice is required to gain speed in doing calculations.

Motivation: The main motivation for applying to iGATE was the company is a major IT service provider and had been listed in the 100 fastest growing companies by Fortune magazine. Since i had been rejected in companies like Wipro, CTS, Infosys, i applied to this company in the hope of getting selected. Other motivations were my college seniors and teachers.
Funny Moments: When the technical interviewer asked me to explain any topic from my area of interest, I was shocked for a minute because i could not believe that i had been granted so much liberty of choosing any topic from my subject.To crosscheck what i had hear was true or not, i reassured myself by asking him whether he was sure or not. Then the interviewer smiled and told me to proceed.

Round: Test
Experience: The test was all about how well you understand and write the English language as the company totally depends on the retail process, their high requirement was on the language understandability.
Tips: There are no much tips, Just be good with the English language.
Duration: 60 minutes

Experience: I spoke about how well the company is doing in the present state and also few great achievements of the company.
Tips: Know about the company well before you attend any interview.

Experience: The versant exam was of 6 rounds which was all about the communication skills and spontaneous answers to the question given ending with a specified length Email writing.

Skill Tips: Be good at communicating with the people around and also with good clever answers when asked.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: I talked second and took a stance of defence with development. I tried to talk intermittently for a duration of approx 40 sec each time and for a total of 5 times.
Tips: U should be the guy who had talked the most in GD but care should be taken not to dominate it. Try to tell maximum number of points and try to exhaust all the points when you get your first opportunity.
Duration: 8 minutes

Round: Interview
Experience: They were just checking whether you have the necessary communication and managerial skills and how well you handle the stresses of interview.
Tips: Being thorough with the nooks and corner of your resume and keeping your head cool alone will ensure you get shortlisted.

Experience: It’ll be tough. For CS and ECE people, it will be a smooth ride if you know algorithms and data structures.

Round: Interview
Experience: I was asked to solve puzzles. Mainly sorting algorithms; heap and bubble. To sum up, a lot of programming knowledge and algorithm analysis will be required.
Tips: Don’t fumble, it’s very important to be confident. If there’s something you don’t know, don’t hesitate to accept it.
