Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Hello everyone,
I am sharing this experience after spending 5.8 years in the eClerx DO program.

If you get an opportunity to work in the DO program, specifically in the PDM cluster of the digital vertical, here are a few points to consider:

1. Projects and Work Culture:

In PDM, only short-term projects are available.

There is significant politics and favoritism among employees, especially from senior managers.

2. Tools and Workload:

You will primarily work with Microsoft Excel; no globally recognized or industry-standard tools are used.

Your daily work, from start to finish, revolves around Excel.

3. Salary and Growth:

Salary hikes and promotions are minimal, even if you give your best performance.

Most profits go to senior managers as PCLB bonuses or annual appraisal hikes, especially if a process performs well.

4. Targets and Leave Policy:

Unrealistic targets are set by PMs/APGMs who handle clients and processes.

Due to these targets, it becomes difficult to utilize your leaves or compensatory offs.

5. Learning and Growth Opportunities:

There are limitations on learning and self-growth opportunities.

Though the company policy allows employees to apply for IJP (Internal Job Posting), senior managers in PDM often do not approve these applications, even if you meet the organizational criteria.

6. Work-Life Balance:

Official working hours are 9 hours, Monday to Friday, as per your offer letter. However, in reality, you may be required to work on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), depending on your reporting manager’s requirements to meet their unrealistic targets.

7. Handling Issues and Concerns:

If you raise questions about targets or leaves, you might be placed in the PCIP (Performance Capability Improvement Program) for 30-40 days.

After this period, HRBP, HR interns, and your program-level manager may hold a meeting with you, asking you to resign or face termination.

My Advice:
If you receive an offer, consider working for 1-2 years to gain some experience and then switch to another organization.
