Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude is conducted my cocubes, 40 clear the aptitude its not that hard .But it is different from other aptitude you have attended. It is a non technical aptitude and you have 40 minutes to answer 40 questions. Also since its easy means there are going to be mass eliminations in this round. out of the 230 that attended only 64 cleared this round.
Some of the topic cover in the test include:

verbal
reasoning questions
comprehension questions
interpretation from graph
pipes and cistern
volume and surface areas
permutation and combinations
probability
percentage
SI and CI…..

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Here we are allowed to choose our own topic, we are divided into groups of 10 and u have 15 minutes per GD. You are given 2 minutes to take notes about the topic selected.Overall easy for the most part, can be cleared easily if you talk clear and loud.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This is all about how good you are with the fundamentals. Out of 10 I would give it a 6.5 on difficulty. Each interview lasted about 15 minutes.Only 40 students attended this round in total. out of which 24 cleared it. Most of the questions were oriented towards OS. 2/3 people said they had lots of OS questions asked to them, irrespective of the fact that they are EEE or ECE.

Starts with a self introduction:
The key areas of Focus here are :
Operating Systems:

What is a deadlock
What are threads
Diffrerent between multi programming and multi-processing
All the memory management techniques
Difference between windows XP and Windows 7
Types of paging(be extra through here they always ask about paging in most interviews)
process life cycle

DBMS:
Not that hard easy questions from dbms, just some basic select statement

Difference between RBBMS and DBMS
What is a object oriented DBMS
SQL queries select statements
how to find number of unique values in a SQl database (using the distinct count() function)

Programming:

“choose a language c, c++, Java?” followed by “rate yourself in Java” then “write the code for string reversal”or “how can we connect two systems using C programming write a sample programming”
Stuff about OOPS concepts
Lots of questions I mean LOTs and LOTs were asked about memory allocation in C and in Java

Networks:

What are switches and what are hubs
Explain OSI layers
Name a protocol that functions in each OSI layer
Question about different routing protocols
“Is MAC unique” followed by “IF MAC is unique why no use it instead of IP address”.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: IF you make it to the HR round you are selected. All 28 that attended got selected . It was more like stuff for formality. The usual questions. There were 2 interviewers and it lasted for about 8 minutes

Round: Group Discussion

Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: it was solely depend on HR. some hr would ask u question frm what u studied from 1st semester to 7 semester. But, i was lucky. my hr asked me simple questions from data comm. OSI Layer and protocols in each layer etc.
Tips: HR may ask question from anywhere. So be prepared....!!!!!!!!!

Round: HR Interview
Experience: it was basically not important round. some simple hr question was asked like- tell me abt urself, ur job location preference, ur hobby etc. Mainly technical round was eliminatory round. student who perform well in techincal round get almost selected even if they mess up in hr round.
