Interview Questionnaire

2 Questions

  • Q1. What have been your achievements that will help us to understand whether you are suitable for the senior leadership position?
  • Q2. What can you bring in to the organization and role which will set you apart from other candidates?

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - An interview to me is a dialogue, a conversation and a discussion that involves the prospective candidate in front of a panel where the panel seeks to know the personality, the leadership qualities, capability to manage the intended role, bring in innovation, technology, experience and skills. Hence the first thing the candidate should remember is to listen well and be precise and specific to the question. Any answer in the first part should be specific to the question as per the JD requirements. the second part should be more affirmative and strong about what you feel for e.g. when you answer to what innovations you can bring in, the first part should be what you have done actually to bring in changes that has profited your previous organizations; and the second part should start with e.g. i also think that I could have done better as I feel now that I could have accessed xyz technology platform, or made a restructuration of our delivery model, etc etc. It is very important to make your panel feel that you have had a challenge whicch you dealt smartly but also have learnt from it and have the aptitude to learn and adopt to situations further on. Being honest and specific in your answers creates a dialogue environment that helps the panel to understand you and engage with you to explore your capabilities and aspirations with intelligence..
Most interview panels I have faced had most answers already expected or kind of fixated in their mind. hence when you engage with them instead of thinking that you must fit into what they are expecting to know from you, you actually achieve two things. First you give them an answer they are expecting. Secondly you also expose them to things that they may not be aware off, and hence you set yourself in a position of confidence to command the discussions with ideas and make them feel this is the guy who has learnt from mistakes, challenges and is capable enough to move or push things differently to get things achieved. AN interview panel if is open will always prefer a candidate who has more cards under the sleeve than what is visible on the table. The employer is always looking for an achiever and not a stereo type. hence being honest and open to dialogue, admit mistakes and prove how you learn from success and failure and developed yourself to address things smartly is what the right candidate rating is all about. This is entirely my opinion and this is how I interview and also approach when I am being interviewed. leadership and capability is about being smart, wise and learning. Listening skills are more important, reading the body language and your environment, competition and market is more important than be fixed with an idea and be a stereotype. Stereotypes will be preferred for smaller roles where delivery is more important. But when growth and development is in perspective then, one needs a leader with strength to accept defeat and turn around, learn and adopt to the environment quickly and lead the team from the front to achieve goals beyond targets. If this helps anyone, then I would feel happy that I have learnt from my successes and failures.
