Round: Test Experience: Most of the Java questions were theoretical type from both advanced(more from advanced) and core java and with decent level of difficulties. There were a few code related problems too from advanced java. Aptitude and english sections were simple. Tips: Have a good knowledge of Java. Marks obtained in this round matter THE MOST for the final selection after all the rounds. Duration: 90 mins minutes Total Questions: 30+15+15
Round: Group Discussion Experience: Since, This was first GD of my life, so initially, it was not going well for me but somehow i managed it at last moments. Tips: Practice as much as you can. Without practice it may get tough. During the GD, speak whatever you want but don't remain silent. Initiator has extra benefit so try to be the ice breaker. Duration: 10 mins minutes
Round: Technical Interview Experience: There was a combined interview of Technical and HR. Very simple question were asked. Tips: If you have some coding experiences in a training or internship projects then it is quite possible that no technical questions will be asked during interview, only HR and behavioral questions may be there. But if asks then few basic programs will be given to write. Show your interests in the company during interview and also have some prior knowledge about the company.
Skill Tips: Students from Electronics should have at least a training or internship experience in IT sector or any project done using C, C++ or Java or any other programing language. It will help you a lot during interview. They ask about your experiences and interests in programing during interview. Round: Test Experience: Very simple yet interesting and mind boggling. Tips: Practice the shortcuts in solving these simple prblms. dont go for answering all the questions, u just need to cross the cut-off Duration: 30 minutes Total Questions: 15
Round: VIDEO synthesis & PSEUDO-coding Experience: Very interesting round but brings out the best in u Tips: Listen carefully. its "synthesis" not "summary" , so better if one does go with one liners , catch words r punch lines may do the job.
You dont need to be a coding-wizard to pass this one. very basic things, u just need to carefully find the small twists and tricks
Round: Group case study Experience: They will give u and ur grp a real life business scenario and need to give a economically feasible yet very effective ways to solve that and bring profit to ur customer. Tips: Read the problem time and again to seriously understand the problem underlying, ask questions if you need. Then accumulate the things and come out with a plan, very clear one. Dont go on shouting at ur fellow mates, this isn't a group discussion, its a case study.
Round: HR Interview Experience: Although it was my very first interview ever, and off course i was a bit tensed, but as soon as i entered i became very relaxed. the HRs were very friendly. They love to talk and know u. Not at all like what we typically think of.
it was around 1:30am , they even offered me some chocolates :p Tips: Again, B yourself. DO NOT PRETEND. i being an final year engineering student did not know much about the field of decision sciences neither they expect anyone to knw.
General Tips: Know about the company before to go to appear for the interview. Round: Resume Shortlist Experience: It was mostly based on academic performance over the years. They had set an eligibility criteria based on our performances in Xth, XIIth and graduation. Tips: There is no substitute for hard work when it comes to academics. A consistent performance which reflects a positive trend in your performance will always impress your recruiters.
Round: Test Experience: Tata motors online test in conducted by AMCAT. Quantitative and logical reasoning were pretty much easy. They had questions from all the chapters one can find in any so aptitude books. English questions were mostly usage based. One needs to have a strong reading base to answer the questions. Technical questions were mostly theoretical but very conceptual. Tips: Practice aptitude questions as much as possible. English needs to be developed through continuous effort. Read books and newspaper, once in a while try writing something in english. A thorough knowledge of your technical concepts is necessary. Focus on English if you think it is your weakest link ASAP. Many people understand this only at the 11th hour, which is of no help at all Duration: 110 minutes Total Questions: 100
Round: Group Discussion Experience: Although our topic was somewhat abstract,other groups had topics based on current political ,social, and economic affairs. Based on the time that was given to us, the 7 of us each took a minute to put forth our point of view before finally concluding in the last 2 minutes of our allotted time. The discussion was a peaceful one and almost every body brought something new into the discussion. 5 of us got selected for the interview round Tips: Develop your communication skills. Make use of your professional communication skill classes if your college provides one. Take stock of what is happening around you, in your country, in the world. Practice having fruitful discussions with your friends around you on social topics. Duration: 8-10 minutes minutes
Round: Technical Interview Experience: I started by giving a small introduction about myself and my upbringing. The interviewers then took up to ask questions from my project. There were 3 interviewers, one hr and 2 technical interviewers. The y were very experienced professionals of their field and their questions reflected that. I was able to answer most of the questions, however they had me stuck at the project question for quite sometime. Throughout the interview they were going through the my application form they gave us to fill after the online tests and also my CV. Tips: Keep confidence in yourself. If you have made this far in a placement drive then you have it in yourself to see through one more round. Interviews are hard to advise for and the only extra tip for facing an interview is to feel confident and cool.

Round: Technical Interview Experience: Mostly the questions they asked me were regarding the microprocessors and coding (C and c++).The interview lasted for 45 min and during this my technical hr grilled me in every sense.He asked me logical questions regarding the core subjects. Tips: Basically they just want to test the presence of mind and how you react to the situation.so just keep cool and give your best.
Round: HR Interview Experience: the hr round was a 5 min round in which they asked if the student had any other offer(in my case it was polaris finance),and the ctc offered by the other company and the reason to select nokia over polaris.rest they asked me about my family details. Tips: Just be calm and composed during the hr round. The hr round checks the mindset of the participant and his confidence to talk to people. Just be yourself.
General Tips: Keep cool and give your 100% .Rest have faith in yourself and you will do great. Skill Tips: For communication and micro processors just keep yourself updated with the new technologies.read 8085,8086 properly as they will help you in the process. Internships matter a lot.Hence a good internship with a good firm counts a lot in the process(in my case it was Vodafone and Siemens LTD.) Round: Test Experience: As I was already placed in other company so I was not much worried about anything.So my mind was at peace and that was the best thing.Because test paper was a little bit lengthy and aptitude level was of R.S.Agrawal book.but technical was a little bit tedious as it included questions from all the subjects of computer science.So I solved it and as my aptitude was gud so it took me very less time to complete that section and my technical was also prepared so this test was good for me.I was sure that I will be selected in this round and my results confirmed that. Tips: Before giving this test or test of any company,you should have solved R.S Agrawal aptitude book.And you have atleast studied your technical subject books thoroughly so as that small terms are familiar to you. Round: Test Experience: For the first round which consisted of 30 questions in 30 min which included general problems of passage and verbal statistics ,Data Interpretation, Logical reasoning and quantitative analysis. If your concepts about mathematics and reasoning you are smart enough to get through it. For the second round again 30 questions 30 min java questions which needed some practice on output problems and error handling packages interfaces etc were the general topics. Tips: For aptitude practice quick questions set from indiabix.com and solve the first set exercise of Arun sharma CAT book which will be enough for u to score a heap to level the scores in java deficiency. For java revision again indiabix.com and few other sites for quick brushing up like studytonight.com, tutorialspoint.com which are handy. As there was no negative marking feel free to take a shot on probable answers all which u think of Duration: 60 minutes Total Questions: 60
Round: Pshycometric test Experience: Easy for every one to handle. Just dont matter alot in your performance in this test Tips: If you can practice it beforehand its well and good else all can manage it at hand
Round: Group Discussion Experience: In 15 minutes get a chance to speak atleast twice for the point Tips: Be confident enough to take initiative as breaking silence and starter gets the most attention and speak gently but confidently and dont deviate from the topic and do not cross much as it is a disscussion not a debate Duration: 15 min minutes

Round: HR Interview Experience: As the time will pass by in the interviewer room you will feel relaxed Tips: Practice with your friend the interview. be judmental and precise. true to what you think personally. dont count too much on your weakness like your weakness should be emotional, cant say no to one who needs help,etc, and more precise on you CV it must be not more than 1 and half page try to compress and present most important ones on the first page to make sure they go through it all
