Round: Interview
Experience: In the first round of interviews, I was asked a few general questions and was given a case to solve. I did it correctly .
Round: Stress Interview
Experience: It was cakewalk for me owing to my good communication skills.

General Tips: - Give importance to apti, resume and interview simultaneously. Don’t ignore any.
- Work on communication skills. Your technical skills won’t help much in interviews.
- Aptitude and resume get you to an interview; work on both.
- Don’t apply to any company blindly. Work on your priorities. Its intelligent to apply to a small number of companies and focus honestly.
- Think of an interview as a chat. Remember, the interviewers are normal people who won’t bite.
- Work on your nervousness. Use meditation if you get nervous even after preparation.

2 Interview Rounds
Interview Preparation Tips
Round: Skype interview
Experience: They were conducting only 1 round (Skype interview) for every candidate. The interview began with tell me about yourself’ followed by ‘Why FuzzyLogix?’ Then I was given 3 SQL questions. I did not want to get into analytics so although I knew the answers of all 3 questions, I just solved only 2 of them and was pretty sure that I will not clear the interview. Later, came to know from some sources that they wanted to take me and the company guys (my senior & my batchmate whom I know nicely) who knew that I don’t want to get into FuzzyLogix helped me in my rejection.

Interview Preparation Tips

Experience: Interview began with a very interesting question that if I was given 2 year time what would I work upon which would prove beneficial for the company. Basically, I was given a chance to show how innovative I could be. Then they asked two questions from my courses: one from Convex Optimization and other from Information Theory. This followed with one coding question. They told me to write full code. I don’t remember exactly but something based on doubly linked list. After this, they asked two puzzles directly from Pratik Poddar’s blog. I was able to answer all their questions.

Experience: They selected 5 students for 2nd round. They gave 3 questions. One from algorithm, one from designing of a data structure and third was crazy guy on airplane puzzle. I was able to do 2 questions but got confused in one question. Result: 3 were selected out of 5. I was the wait listed candidate and 1 out of those 5 was rejected.

Finally, the interviewer after knowing about my projects says my profile is interesting and it portrays that I am really interested in my field (video processing, computer vision, etc.). The profile for which they came was Distributed computing profile. He said that although he is not obligated to say but Xerox does not do good work in Video Processing and I have much more knowledge than what is required to work in Xerox in the image processing division so I should go for a PhD and if I want to work in industry go for other firms that do good work in my field.
My interview experience with Xerox guys was interesting in the sense. He was an IITK alumnus so he was kind of concerned that I should not go for a wrong career path, hence he gave me a lot of points on life. I also reciprocated and chatted with them for an hour or so.

I asked them about the job profile and after knowing that they were hiring candidates for frontend programming, about which they didn’t mention in JAF. I told them that I was not interested in frontend development. And didn’t even answer any question after that. Unfortunately, I was selected.
General Tips: Plan your schedule judiciously keeping your capacity in mind. There is no point of making ideal plans and then not able to do even 50% of it.
Don’t get into unnecessary arguments or debate with people.
Don’t think about what others are doing. Focus on your preparation.
How you carry yourself matters. So, make sure you portray yourself in the way you want the other person to perceive you.
Be selective while applying for companies.

Experience: The test included General quantitative and logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, questions on basic topics of Mechanical Engineering like Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Solids, Energy Systems, Manufacturing etc.

Experience: Advanced questions on the topic of your interest specifically related to Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering like Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Turbo-machinery etc, questions like what do you know about the company.
General Tips: Always follow your interest while choosing a suitable job. I was asked if I had any other interview to which I replied flipkart. He then asked me why snapdeal and not flipkart. I had studied everything about the 2 companies and was thus able to defend my choice. Next he gave me some puzzles, I did all with little inputs from him. I was asked to wait for 2nd interview and not go to Flipkart GD but I went anyway.

Experience: This interview round was again technical. This time there were 2 panellists and they again gave me 4-5 puzzles, which I did successfully. I was asked to wait for a HR interview.

4. There are plenty of companies with handsome compensation. Just give your best in preparations and interviews.
