Working with TCS means working with below industry average remuneration, if refered to Glassdoor salaries. However, if one is lucky enough to squeeze into some really good projects, something that make one passionate about, there is no dearth of opportunities and growth. Most people keep buzzing around getting an international work location, however, once again, if one is really passionate about innovation and creative work, the company culture is really good at it. Process is something which make things work smooth but slow, and TCS is a big big process driven organization. HR is very strong and this promotes new age culture to expand its influence in workstyle, preventing yesteryear mindset employees to force norms on the newbies (Waterfall vs Agile for instance). Overall, the only reason one should stick to TCS, is the excellent worklife balance, opportunities, good culture and TATA support (which includes extensive medical and ancillary benefits)

Dislikes

Salary and increments are very meagre and less opportunities to internal employees for raise as compared to external hires.

Allocation based work culture Bench culture of working Service scope of work Paying less variable pay from actual,only 40% max we can get Even if we perform and score 4.5 out of 5,we get band "C" If we score "A" band also max hike is 5% Promotion once in 5yrs Hard to touch with HR, we couldn't find them as easy. No proper work space, chairs also not so good. Transport by means of non AC bus with costed from our salary. Except water all things we need to pay

Everything. Whatever you may think. Everything is worst. It’s not the place to work. But you will learn the basics of politics.

...y is the job security. Hence if you are concerned about it, then a good company. This will not ensure at par salary or a quality work life.

Dislikes

Salary is way too less than what’s offered in the market. That’s why tcs is loosing the right talents. I would not recommend TCS at least for the beginners and mid-management. Everything depends on the client that you are working, for e.g. TCS claims offering work from home for their employees which is not true. If the client ask the team to be in their office, TCS has no say. Mostly the leadership teams of every account are found rude. Most importantly, the HR teams: pls someone teach them the meaning of HR and teach them how to treat people.

Very stingy management Employees get only salary but no goodies, team lunches or sponsored celebrations. Laptops given are poor in condition to many and warranty of the laptops are not tracked properly. Employees are forced to pay for any damage even for a 2 year old laptop
