...oject you are assigned to and how understanding your team/project lead would be. -> No salary hike. Even though you did well and received good feedback from your project manager, you would get a salary hike like 2 - 5%. Only getting promotions will help you to get a good salary hike. -> No cab facilities for men. -> No proper appreciation for the work you do. -> Work culture is very bad.

I joined IBM with a very good compensation and a big joining bonus back in September 2021. I also got a pretty decent hike the following year. The work life balance is really great and you will definitely learn a lot in this organisation.

The organisation management has become a concern since the last year. They have started micromanaging a lot. Not giving employees proper leave. Asking them to cancel planned leaves as well just for the sake of utilization which wasn’t happening before. But all of sudden, everyone’s utilization is impacting as per company’s higher management because of which they were asking employees not to take leaves, not even sick leave also. Apart from that, there are no proper channels or medium in IBM who could guide you for anything like certifications, Internal Job posting or career development or promotions. I got to knew about my promotion process by myself only after lot of searching and digging. But for that also I was told to wait for at least a year to get nominated. The worst part is IBM made the Scrum Master of my project as my People’s Manager which was really weird and bizzare as I was working in the role of PO and SM was reporting to me. But outside project, my SM would be my manager, which I believe will be conflict of interest and role. So overall, I was completely frustrated with the management of the company.

...trictly enforced. No fixed hours to spend in office, that depends between teams. promotions and pay cycles depends on your importance and how good the team is doing in the organisation. managers are helpful and respectful towards employees in general. one have scope and opportunity to grow skills, contribute to open source, blogs, disclosures.

Internal movement between teams is almost always a fight. Often people are made to work in mixed bag of tasks/technologies, that might make one a jack of all trades and makes specialisation in one/some skillset go away.
