In the past, working here had a lot of learning opportunities. Sadly that has deteriorated now. Work life balance is good if you can take a stand.

What I like the Most about HDFC Bank is there are vast amount of work which you can do, change your profile and learn a lot. If you are a person who wants to Learn and keep Learning you can take HDFC as your Company. There are various Profile in HDFC bank which you can Explore.

...ife is work basically. You won't be appreciated if you don't Shine at your Work. The Pay is Less and Not upto the standard of the work you put in. The Backoffice although Hike is maximum 8 to 9 % although they really reward the Sales and business team with quarterly bonuses. There is No work challenge for the People who are good with Numbers. Again, it depends on your Profile. Basically work a lot with less money and No appreciation whatsoever. Female employees are not given drop even if they stay up till 11 in the night. No Female Benefits all men dominated. every Month end you have to work and also some bank holidays. Hell lot of Pressure.

Nothing to like. Just an exploitation in the name of Brand-name

...bank's HR policy is also biased to only senior management ie; DVP & above level. There is no Provision to pay telephone reimbursement to Manager & below level, but anyone can call you on that number and you too should use your personal device for office matters. 3. There are people like Vivek Capoor earned the position of EVP level through influence of blood-relation as his father was ex-chairman of HDFC Bank. He is a loser in life having no personal life and calls junior-level management employees working on 8-9 lacs package on Sundays or odd hours like 3 am, just to showoff howmuch he works, with his package of 1 crore (excluding ESOPs gathered in his name). 4. HDFC bank work-culture is totally based on Favoritism, Politics, slow-adaptation, no learning & development for employees, zero-investment on employees welfare (except where they get opportunities to cross-sell their own group-company products like HDFC Life insurance, Broking account of HDFC Securities), slow monetary growth, stagnation in life of their lower & mid-management 5. HDFC Bank is marred by controversies like murder of VP-level employee at parking-lot in Mumbai, Suicide of employee in office premise in Mumbai, Cardiac-arrest of employee at Chennai-office on Monday, who was also working a day prior on Sunday to meet some deliverable, leakage of footage of online abuse of employees by zonal-manager - all these were suppressed or wrapped under the boasted Number 1 Private bank 6. HDFC bank is good only for profiteering & making business taking advantage of growing banking needs in India, but its not a good place to work. Till Aditya Puri times, it was good for shareholders, but now it is not even that. Alhough VP, SVP, EVP & Top management who are sitting in their comfort-zone here for years are making lot of money, at the cost of junior & mid-management employees 7. There are no Leave Encashment while leaving the organization. Also, they deliberately keep changing cycle of Appraisals to lengthen the period of Bonus-allotment (which are very petty). They wouldn't leave any opportunities where they can save money, be it not against ethics & employees' retention. They have the worst layoff of 34-35% every year. 8. People who can leave this organization count themselves fortunate, as otherwise sticking here would make them sitting ducks with no competitive skillset, which no other organisation would prefer them to hire from HDFC Bank

There’s nothing to like in HDFC.

Dislikes

... Senior management doesn’t bother about junior staff. They are always underpaid. They don’t even give increments and bonuses. As the entire budget of bonus is digested by the senior management itself. Never join HDFC at lower grades.
