Golden Path (Private Credit)
I’m a CFA charter holder with about 4.5 years of experience mostly in credit analysis & valuations, currently working in private credit valuations (for a KPO, client is a massive PC fund). Recently got promoted to Senior level (der aye durust aye) I’m trying to find the golden path now. Following is my current plan: 1. Highlight due diligence and underwriting experience and transition to a deal team (either a global fund like Ares/Apollo or an Indian fund (even try my shot at venture debt) 2. Pursue an MBA from a decent uni (i have a 90 percentile score in GMAT). Targeting ISB, INSEAD, ESADE, IE, HEC Paris, a few Unis in US located in Boston/Chicago /NY. Post which I can perhaps continue in a tier 1 private credit fund like KKR, Carlyle, Blackstone? Considering my age and trajectory I only have this Sept Round 1 to pick out an MBA and go in Fall’26 Does this path seem golden given my profile? Can I improve it? Is MBA worth it? 😂

Job security Culture depends on your team Flexibility to work. You have enough work but not necessary that you need to login at 11 and log off at 8. Half a day concept isn't there ..so if you take permission from your manager for half a day it isn't considered as a leave . But this is again based on your manager

1.Compensation. They are very bad when it comes to annual hike Culture is bad in many teams Work hours might be extended even post 11 pm 2.No automation or tech - they ask us to learn and upskill and implement things. However, the company will give trainings or LinkedIn trainings and ask for result in automation from a non comp science person in no time 3. I have seen people as associate for 9 plus years . So promotions are rare 4.the goal is set in a very detailed manner that you can get any hike by the end of the year. You get hike is one digit!!

After Few Years Nothing new to learn, it is same repetitive Tasks Salary is less than Market standards even after Appraaisal and promotion is also less If you do trading you have to take approval from compliance team before Trading in Shares and IPO etc
