Cognizant has its strengths, but I feel there's room for improvement in several areas beyond just salary. For me, the overall experience hasn’t aligned with my expectations.

Dislikes

In my personal experience, I have faced challenges with the lack of qualified managers and team leads. For instance, in our team, we work from different locations, and our team lead rarely conducted regular team huddles. Even when I, as a senior, tried to take responsibility and initiate meetings, he would often find reasons to stop or postpone them. Over the course of the year, he connected with the team only four or five times, which was far from adequate for effective team collaboration. Additionally, my manager has been disconnected from the team for over a year. When he first joined during a critical transformation period, he did not take the time to observe the team members' expertise, interests, or long-term goals. This lack of involvement left us feeling unsupported and undervalued. One major concern was the cultural bias I experienced. Being from Chennai and a Tamil speaker, I noticed a clear difference in how I and others like me were treated compared to team members from Hyderabad, particularly Telugu-speaking colleagues. This disparity in treatment created a sense of alienation and made it difficult to feel like a cohesive part of the team.

Cognizant is good at retaining their associates and also enables associate to up skill themselves in various platforms .

Dislikes

Very poor with pay structure. Those who grow within the organisation will not have any benefits with regards to salary.

Likes

I liked working on fixed shift timings and worked from home throughout my tenure at cts, salary hike is good as a senior associate entering cognizant.

Dislikes

When working above expectations it is taken for granted by management. Attrition rate was very high which impacted stability of rest of the employees, management could have made efforts to retain employees.

Likes

Internal support provided within Cognizant for career development is phenomenal. Also there is a very strong internal social platform for raising voice and concerns to highest level of management, and those are actually reviewed and answered.

Dislikes

...ittle of separation is available in. Hardly, you will find the role defined in. (2) Compensation: Financially, not to prudent to live over here. On the name of the financial anonymity in the world , there will be always paid lesser stating the business are not performing as per ‘expectations’ :p doesn’t matter however they earn. Say for example there has been a growth of 20% and even if the average growth across the other IT industries are 10%

It depends on the team so you can not say just based on your experience whether work culture is good or bad. Overall it's not that bad to not consider altogether.

Dislikes

The freshers joining after college are getting better pay than me, poor increment and long promotion time. No extra benefits.
