The salary is provided on time, and there are opportunities to access courses for learning new skills. However, we often don't have time to dedicate to learning during shift hours, as this role requires us to be in front of the laptop for the entire shift.

Dislikes

The management is very toxic, and the leadership is performing poorly in managing metrics, making employees work like robots. The main goal of this ML Data Associate role is to teach machines how to perform annotations, which should be done by humans. However, while humans naturally make mistakes, the company expects employees to work with 100% accuracy under very tough metrics, making the job extremely stressful. There is no work-life balance, and I would definitely not recommend this job to freshers, as it could ruin their careers despite being at a big company. Please avoid.

Lots of opportunities to learn. Lots of teams to work for. Good base pay if you are promoting internally. You have internally job portal to move to different teams.

No work life balance No work from home, mandatory work from office. Sometimes we work alone on whole floor due to people on rotational shifts and offs Too much micro management No job security, no matter how good performance you have, evey year team should remove 1 or 2 people and the person could be anyone You need to use own time if you want to do some interesting project Many of the roles on job portal are actually on hold or decided for someone You will see the job responsibilities will be different after you join the team

Recently they are hugely on cost cutting. Delayed promotions. They do not care that because of their wrong promotion timelines it wastes a lot of time and career opportunities of employees. They keep delaying promotion results on purpose it seems to cut costs for the quarter. Such delay and false hope keeps employee engaged longer in same lower role for a year and in the end feels like time wasted. If I had clarity that this is how career path going to go, I would have thought of better options about 1 year ago. Too high workload, workload is always on fire.

Amazon is an employee friendly company with good salary for freshers. They have good leave policies as well.

Dislikes

For virtual employees working from the said location and not anywhere in India sounds weird. Also, discontinuing virtual opportunities.

Shift timings, for me it was 11pm to 8am , salary hike is way to less not even 30% which is basic. I applied for some other role which was wfo but without my knowledge or any notice they changed or shifted me to vcs for wfh . I just couldn't keep up with vcs as I was not from that background
