Tata Steel is a great place for Learning New Initiatives but of late the culture of Employee Friendliness is becoming adverse.

Dislikes

Promotions are very few and there are only 3 Promotions from a Management Trainee to GM (General Manager)/Chief. People have to spend in a level for years before getting promoted. Of late Employee Friendliness and job security is getting worse. Anyone joining Tata Steel should always be on lookout for new jobs also since there is no job security anymore.

After Ratan Tata's demise Tata Steel is the worst place for engineers. *All perks seized, leaves are half now. No meal is subsidized. *You have to works for days without off, leave. Even tea and water is payable. *Increament is like peanuts and forget about promotion. *Even if you survive a safety or code of conduct case will be issue to prove you are the slave.

The company culture is opposite of what everyone thinks. There is way too much Sir culture and the performance appraisal depends on how well your relation is with your reporting manager, not on your performance.
