Generally speaking, my work is slightly challenging as I was in-charge of Health of all the employees of Tata Power and ensure that they are medically fit. Arrange preventive check-ups, health awareness lectures and treating them when they are sick.

Total political environment, Top to bottom enjoying their posts, biased promotions, misleading in the name of bell curve. Surplus manpower therefore new joiner less entertained by department to put them in P1, P2 cut your salary in end of the financial year.

( In Big Corporate Increment % are fixed based upon PMS Rating however Tata Power has initiated Variable % Increase over and above regular performance to good performer. It has happened only in 2024 . Let see if it continues)

1. Toxic Work Place - Age Gap b/w Reportee and Manager. 2. Poor Support of HR wrt Work Place Conflicts or Mental Health Issue due to Toxic Work Place. (Policy , Well Being Program and etc are available and executed but real required support is not provided) Reason: Huge Age Gap between Managers and Reportee which leads to dissatisfaction in both and particularly reportee. Tata Power has very good job security which means employee stay here for long even if employee performance is poor or border line mediocre. Elder employees are in Head or Managerial position who hesitate to accept new working culture. Engineering Graduates - Fresher are way smarter and come up with certain expectations however this turn toxic when old ideas or work culture are mandated to follow by their manager or Head. Although Leadership is good but culture is not driven till bottom.
