During my tenure as the Branch Head for Kolkata, I was responsible for overseeing and driving the branch’s overall performance. Under my leadership, the Kolkata branch witnessed substantial growth with the formation of KCD and a remarkable revenue increase of over 300%. I also took personal initiative in resolving multiple client issues, ensuring service delivery and maintaining trust despite systemic challenges. However, my experience within the organization was overshadowed by internal politics. Certain individuals in leadership roles, specifically Anirban Kundu and Nitish Verma, engaged in activities that undermined my position and authority. Their actions included bypassing protocol, directly contacting my team members to foster dissent, and creating an environment of mistrust. Despite these efforts, my team remained loyal, recognizing the value of a unified and performance-driven culture. Unfortunately, these circumstances adversely impacted my professional growth. Despite being the highest-performing branch in Kolkata, my salary was not revised as promised. Additionally, I was subjected to threats regarding the non-payment of my dues. This, coupled with the organization's lack of transparency and unprofessional conduct from certain managers (some with questionable backgrounds), created a toxic work environment. The company culture does not align with employee well-being or ethical standards. I observed frequent instances of false commitments being made to clients, which I personally took upon myself to rectify. No free food and office not good doesn't have big desks or monitors for developers, very crowded office, like a call center 5 people sit on a desk and will say they have open culture. Very small cafeteria, only 5 people can fit at a time. Very strict deadlines and shouting HOD's and Old senior engineering managers know nothing about new stack only do shouting as a help. Lot of cross team dependencies very hard to work across team nobody responds timely, only pressurize developers for task completion and at the end of the year all the promotion will be eaten by manager, skip manager. Indian company very hard to earn money here, your work doesn't speak for itself, only those who follow their manager like a slave can expect some appraisal. To be honest a bangalore based company would have a minimum of 4x better environment then this. Manager talks in hindi, so that they can hurt you even more with their speech. They will threaten you of piping if you raise your voice on the unjustice. Founder is the only sensible person, but never connects with developers . They will benchmark themselves with Amazon and big companies and then talk about tcs and Infosys on how people are benched there and we are lucky to have to do work. If only they can look and benchmark the pay they provide.
