Company is situated out of the city and we have to travel lot which is very annoying and have to waste our valuable time in travelling time when you have own house in Chennai which is located at centre or north of the city. Working hours is 9.15 mins, which is more than other EPC companies which is not at all good.

Saipem is overall flooded with work and definately job security risk is not there however the way projects are handled here is terrible i.e. a lot of rework takes place sometimes you feel like it's pretty stereotyped job one is doing. Management per se could be one of the root cause for above shortfall because they are not able to challenge or counterstate Milan office for any change or any short of work dumping here in Chennai Office. I also see there is a lot of reliance even in technical aspect on Milan Office. In our field all nucleates from Process dept. But they themself are changing process parameters even after 90% model review which further translates a lot of rework for all other desciplines including Piping, Civil, Instru, Electrical and of course Mechanical and worst part is that this all comes with cost be it the additional Manhours, addition hardware cost, wastage of already purchased item. Above should be checked and should be avoided in order to complete the project at withing targeted cost and schedule. And lastly here people work like a lot without any complaint and even after that management does not recognise their effort and reward them as part of annual bonus or some other monetery benefit what generally happens in other Companies. Here bonus is out of question excepts for Project leads. And once in a blue moon people get salary hike of 3-5%. No annual Bonus and salary hike is very rare in order of 3-5 % max and also work culture could be better.

It's A question depending on individual management. If you are rigid about your in/out timing in Office and are able to give time to family then your work life is balanced otherwise one has to stretch based on project requirement as and when required.
