Bad leadership especially in the software validation department If you are high performer & you don't have the ability to sugar coat you would not be promoted; your promotion would be given to wives/chatukars/beautiful girls who are working in the same department. There is a typical pattern for promotion: go to onsite, come back and get promoted as senior lead enginner. If you have a working wife in the same department, she will resign from India, will join as an external employee in John Deere usa on spouse visa, will come back to India and would join the same department on promotion. Dislikes

It was good before but recent org level changes and layoffs changed everything. Most of the people who were working for Deere for last 15-20 years were being sacked. A employee centric company turned it's culture towards money centric.

If you are part of team, where modernization of products is happening then its really good opportunity to learn. Technical architects are their to suggest newer architectural designs.

Dislikes

Favoritism. Few managers favors some members within his team based on personal interests/relations. Due to that appraisals/promotions are given to his favorites rather than who is deserving or talented. Internal networking is more important of deere culture than technical knowledge depth of employee.

The best company to work with. 5 days working. In Manufacturing Engineering there is WFH option too but depends on approval from your manager. Monthly recognition of efforts you put into the work. 30 days sick leave ( something no other company can offer). Amazing Health Insurance. Job rotation to entirely different department allowed after 2 years of service.

Dislikes

People who have been promoted from AT/TT to staff are extremely insecure thus making life difficult for other colleagues too. Specially to new ones they don't want to share anything and keep their knowledge to themselves.

Layoffs in recent time. Culture and values only in meeting talks not followed at employee level. People here look more to survive long doing politics rather actually work and grow Management don’t have proper vision and dare to take critical decision at team level.
