Like any other organization, this organization also has some of the selfish and eccentric professors. They might be a hurdle for your career and research progress. It is better to research on the mentors if you choose to carry out your doctoral or post-doctoral research in IIT Guwahati.

The Institute had announced the evacuation of all campus residents on 15th March which included all the B.tech, M.tech and Ph.D students. We are being provided with all online class facilities as well as notes by professors, who all are working very hard staying at campus. The Institute authorities have allowed extensions for all current B.tech, M.tech and Ph.D students upto atleast another semester and also provided free data connection through link by VPN. The life of a Ph D student especially in Biotechnology field is exceptionally pathetic. We have no fixed working hours and spent almost everyday in lab doing experiments with no assured holidays. The stipend which we receive is too less compared to the amount of work we need to do. Also there is too much internal politics among the faculty members and it is next to impossible to change the Ph.D topic if one finds it difficult as enforced by their Ph.D supervisors....Read More

It was awesome. Huge instrument and computational facilities. Hostel are too good, clean, well furnished. People are really helpfull. Campus is beautiful. All over a very very good environment to work and stay
