Its like a jail, they can't handle yong researcher, they don't have believe on employers, every where rule, rule and rules, scientist with old mentality, I have worked in Iict, NIPER, LIU SEWDEN, All these places were young researcher friendly environment. Here chikungunya department is worst department

ICMR-NIV, as it is a government organisation , only permeant jobs are secure, project or the contract staff doesn't have job security , work culture varies department to department . It is good for a fresher , they can learn many things and can build base for PhD especially through recommendation letters from scientists. As most of the job vacancies are project based , the tenure ends maximum by 3 years. Depending on department and funding agencies for project the salaries are sometimes irregular. If you are hired as a contractual staff , you do not have any benefits not even earned leaves (EL) there are only CLs which as 2 leaves/ quarter as well as contractual positions are not entitled for annual increment , hence the salary is stagnant....Read More
