If at GE, be prepared to lose your job at any moment. The company has master class processes & tools & those are the only areas where you can develop your skills. Appraisals are literally useless as everything depends on the relationship with your line manager. Even if you achieve something glorious the same can be demeaned by manager at any point of time.
