"Going there was the biggest mistake. Hard work went unappreciated, and this wasn't isolated to just one department; it seemed to be a recurring issue across all departments of the company. Additionally, there was no opportunity for salary growth."

The environment was toxic, everyone was playing their own selfish game. Managers can't see growth of their own team members unless he/she is your friend.
