The work culture initially was good, but it drastically degraded in 2-3 months. You get to work with different kinds of people, it makes coming to work interesting. Also they wont fire you no matter how badly you work. there's no target pressure unlike other retail stores.

Dislikes

Absolutely BS! this company will sell themselves to you as a company which promotes growth inwards, you can change your role whenever you want and go in a different job role inside the company. what they fail to mention is that it'll take you on an average 4-5 years on floor with bare minimum salary to join backend. you have to sweet talk your way into promotion, it wont matter how good you work unless you are in good relation with the upper management. I have worked with managers who were in the company for 8-10 years with a salary of 38k. if you end up not on the good side of the management they will keep you on the same salary and position for years! Forget having a life outside the company. you will have to live and breathe decathlon, to the point where you will have dreams of facing the products, or doing delivery. do not expect anyone to give you guidance, because the managers who are willing to do it, have probably left the company by now. There's a revenge culture within the company, if you are doing your job and step on some toes, expect that there will be consequences big or small. Lot of biasness while giving hikes or promotions, the kind of work and effort you put doesn't really matter then. If you want success in this organization, just be on very good terms with the upper management. do not question them, also forget any work life balance (which essentially means there will be times you would be working on your week offs, and easily will have to extend shifts from 9 hours to 12-13 hours a day at least 3-4 days a week), you will be set for a promotion in 2 years. Everything After having 3-4y experience getting only 30k in hand During appraisal when we ask about salary they were said we get only 5-6% appraisal for country because country is De growing so you will get only this amount 1-2m hike Skill only developed for a guy who have better licking properties, Worst managers no sence of logics . Some time seems like working with narrow minded kids. There is no boundaries to learn in decathlon you can learn and approach any leader out there and get your doughts clear over there. And there are negative points as well You'll be never paid fair.

1. You'll not get any fair payout. They say at the time of appraisals that there is no such thing called T1 and T2 cities hence we don't give hike basis on that.But why there is salary structure difference in same roles in T1 and T2 cities. 2. Politics :- my pervious managers was always do the partying with other persons on the samerole as me and always do the gossips at the same time. I was always bold to say things that they are not doing right but what happens they will make your image in front of zonal manager bad saying he's not good guy and always create problems. 3. Even when you have done lot of things proposed same things and delivered lot of profitable results in any field you'll be given same hike as the person who's not doing anything and licking the foot of the manager. 4.For the same role and responsibilities you'll be getting more layout in other stores. I'll say 30-40% extra. 5.work life balance:- here even if you work 48 hours continously work they will still say you haven't done anything and they'll not. 2 years back every leader's help you to grow, they was understand what kind of help you require and they are trying ther best to help you from every way. Back then decathlon have nice culture 1. Nothing is good there the people over here just try to make fool out the customer to buy there products and tell anything about there warranty and when it comes to give back the warranty they refuse it give

Decathlon is human focused sports retail company which build a strong personalities inside the organization. The retail model is very attractive and one of the leaders in the sports retail industry. It would feel like an extended college life for freshers. Amazing colleagues but the seniority would be pathetic.

Dislikes

They will use young talents at a bare minimum salary and the moment you ask for appraisal they will keep you working at the same salary or 2-5% hikes and you will be mentally and financially broke 3-4 years later you will move to point where you will decide to quit. Their strategy is to hire young talents and exploit their energy and finally flush them out when they ask for more.
