It is a volunteer lead organization with a mindset of Boss is always right. Various reporting structures and less communication between the team is a very common work culture of this organization. No approvals and reimbursements are given on time. I left the organization a year back but still did not receive my experience letter from them even after so many reminders.

Dislikes

1. Confusion in every team 2. Lack of trust and ownership 3. No clear instructions 4. Nothing to learn 5. Only follow orders 6. Can't take initiatives 7. ill behavior of senior management

I was a regional program manager, I used to take care of all the donor led projects, lead a team of social workers placed at hospitals, act as the first point of contact for National Office. Reporting and documentation, proposal and MOU writing.

Likes

The NGO works for children affected with cancer and their families, it is a very good cause and ground team is very dedicated. To be helpful to someone in time of need and be with children is so satisfying. Workshops and trainings are done for staff. It's is expanding and work pressure is more. Overall good experience with teams and doctors.

Dislikes

Appraisals take ages though the processes are set and increments are less. Management needs to be more pro staff and more professional attitude needs to be there.

Dislikes

Poor work culture, negative outlook, the management will actively interfere in employees personal life. The amount of guilt and shaming that goes in here is incomprehensible. They have high ideals for themselves and what they think their culture is but it is way different. No advice would help this company, just a bunch of half educated bad people.

Generally speaking, my work in this company was challenging as i had to deal and provide psychotheraputic counselling to the family and the patients of cancer and other terminally ill paediatric deseases. It was emotionally draining.

Nothing everything is pathetic in working in cankids

Dislikes

Everything about working in cankids is boring and totally incorrect and false reporting to the management. The leaders think that by shouting on the top of their voice they are sounding cool or getting the work done. Everything revolves around just one person and every employee is running just to please the chairperson. Zero work isgetting done those who resign are immediately given raise in salary whereas others are getting very stagnant appraisals. The senior management makes even the senior employees clean the furniture and fans of the office. Many senior managers run to the local market to purchase stuff for the office. No job security the company can fire a person without any reason. Nothing to gain or learn here, Useless workshops and meetings and baseless talks and incorrect reporting. The management also notes the time when the employee has gone for lunch and when the employee has returned back from lunch. The most laughable issue is that even when the employee goes to toilet gets scolding from the chairperson as to why he has gone to toilet. Utterly chaotic and baseless environment....Read More
