I don’t know where to start from. Here is a list of few reasons: 1. Lack of respect for employees: This company is a classic example of what happens when non technical person try to manage a technical organisation. Employees are treated like laborers, with no regard of their well-being or professional growth. You are expected to adhere to unreasonable rules, such as wearing proper formals and maintaining a certain appearance (e.g., no long beards). Minor infractions like arriving after 9:05 AM more than four times in a month, result in penalties like being marked as a half-day. 2. Toxic management style: The main problem here is there is no management here. The owner Mr Sharma manages (or at least tries to) all projects. He is a micro manager with no respect for his employees, viewing himself as superior and expecting everyone to be afraid of him. His behaviour is like authoritarian often treating employees like children. If you fail to meet his arbitrary standards, he will scold you openly. His favourite pastime is arguing, often over 30 minutes, even if it means questioning the validity of their sick leave. Mr Sharma’s management style is complemented by Anil Gupta who acts as his enforcer to ensure employees follow every petty rule and do not complain about the company to outsiders. 3. Abysmal leave policies: Getting leaves approved is a nightmare. You practically have to beg for them. Even if somehow they are granted, you are expected to remain available on call, rendering the leave pointless. If you are sick, you are accused of faking and must provide medical proof to be believed. Mr. Sharma has no empathy and will go out of his way to make you feel guilty for taking time off, regardless of the reason. 4. Punitive measures and salary deductions: The company employs a draconian system where having more than 20 bugs in your code can lead to salary deductions. This is ridiculous considering the high pressure environment employees already endure. Salary is never on time and is often 15-20 days late. 5. Unprofessional work culture: The work culture is entirely professional with Mr Sharma addressing employees in a derogatory manner, using phrases like “oh mama, sunn le” or “oh chacha, kaam kr le”. Good work environment and culture. Teammates are supportive and the management is transparent. There is a huge cafeteria and gaming arcade for chilling. Company policies are good, appraisals are fair and they give good salary hike and bonus every year.
