Akamai is one of the best company to work at. There is so much to learn work explore and grow. One of the best things is the culture. Sometimes i feel its so chill that one hosuld join akamai at their career end when they want to settle.

sometimes i feel work pace is slow and and its too much chill that you get lazy, so its somehow a negative point for poeple like me who dont work on their own or until its a pressure.

There’s zero job security. They kept saying “Best time to be at Akamai” during the layoffs, assured and re-assured employees that there will be no layoffs, decreased the bonus amount saying that it’s a means to ensure jobs are safe and then Wham! One fine day, on a Webex call from the manager, you get to know that you have lost yourjob. Perfect timing because stocks were not vested, and new hike salary was amiss. If this is not fraudulent, cheater-like behavior, I don’t know what is. They are putting effort in Linode now, which is going to be a big flop. Strongly recommend you don’t join this workplace, because you will not feel welcomed here - there are old folks who are stuck for decades and the axe is always on the new comers. There’s not much growth in terms of learning either. They follow legacy method of working and are extremely resistant to change. The future jobs that they will generate are also not secure because the leadership mentioned in the townhall “layoffs might happen again if the need arises”....Read More
