Tight deadlines, sometimes end up being unrealistic. Sometimes you don't know who runs the show for your team and multiple people giving multiple directions, focused on their KRA, and you don't know whose tunes to dance on. (Very specific to my pod, I believe)

I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. WLB is great. Compensation is not off wrt to market standards. Job Security is quite strong. Most of my team currently WFH which is an absolutely great benefit. I happen to have a great team and a good manager that adds positives to my experience here.

Promotions are rather delayed in past 2 years. HR is quite inaccessible and not prompt enough for to have a conversation regarding HR addressable issues. PMs for large scale DS projects are a pain.
