a project manager

Hey, Iam a complete fresher out of college (0 yoe, 0 internship experience). I landed a full time project manager role at an Ed-tech company. They offering me 20k per month and is completely WFH. Should i ask them for to raise a bit after 2 months of working ? What can i expect in future if iam switching this job after 6 months. Will next company give me compensation based on this one or else by their industry standards ? Am i literally f*ked up with career or is it ok to start with 20k ?

What to Expect ?
Underpaid.
It's ok to start low.

Bro most companies expect 4-5 years of experience at least for a product manager. So you might not get that job at this stage. You can continue working in the current company for another 2-3 years since it is WFH anyway. Also you can ask for a salary hike provided that you show the company that you deserve it but mostly companies don’t entertain such requests and hike will be annually based or every 6 months (which is also very very rare).

20K WFH as a fresher isn’t the worst but it’s definitely on the lower side for a PM role

20k as a fresher is honestly almost insulting especially with WFH. Its the bare minimum and youre being underpaid but if youre okay with being undervalued then go for it.🙄

[cleantonic](username) Not my type. Iam an aspiring Product Manager . Sadly, graduating from a tier 3 college. I couldnt crack despite spending 4+ months. So i went up for similar role. This is an Edtech industry. I know they undervalued me. But i thought. Atleast this is better rather than having nothing. Please give me a suggestion, iam having 6 month probation period starting this month. Should i ask for raise after 2 months or should i ask for same after probation period?

20k for a fresher in a project management role especially WFH is a decent start but yeah after 2 months you can totally ask for a raise if you prove your value. Whats your plan for learning in this role?

[crunchytikka](username) Iam working for an Edtech. My motive was to push into product management. Sadly, i spent 5 months cracking the role but couldnt endup a single offer. So, rather than wasting time , i prefered to lookout for a role similar to product management, prepared and got this offer. Talking about long goals, iam an aspiring product manager.

That’s barely even pocket change for a project manager but at least you are WFH, so you can enjoy your underpaid greatness from the comfort of your couch 😂

Starting with 20k is normal for a fresher and after 6 months of experience you'll have a much stronger bargaining chip

20k sounds a little on the lower side but WFH and a full time position is a good start. After a few months if you deliver results you should push for that raise.
