What to do?

Need Advice from the Community This is my story, and I could really use some guidance. I had a successful career in sales and marketing until I decided to join a startup as the Head of Sales. The opportunity to lead the entire sales function, build a team, and explore new markets was exciting, even though it meant taking a pay cut. For the first three months, everything seemed fine. But the next seven months were a nightmare—I stopped receiving my salary. Then, out of the blue, the owner asked me to resign, promising to settle my dues. It’s been over 10 months now, and I still haven’t been paid. I sought legal advice, but I was told that pursuing a case could take a long time and may not result in me recovering the money. Has anyone been through something similar? How did you handle it? I’d really appreciate any insights or advice.

This kind of thing happens more often than you think. Unfortunately, when you're dealing with a shady owner, there's often not much you can do. They know the legal system is slow, and they're counting on you giving up. I know i might sound rude here but consider the money lost. It's a harsh reality, but sometimes it's better for your mental being. Did you do enough research on the company and the owner before you joined?
