Unreasonable expectations
Hi Everyone,
I just joined a company. Within a week, my client is expecting me to enhance their CI/CD pipeline. It has 40+ applications and multiple projects and repositories in gitlab. But there is no proper KT given. I am trying my best to understand but it’s difficult. There is no one to clear doubts also. When I told that I need some time to understand he rudely said we need to deliver these many things by this week else management will raise questions. How to handle this situation? First time working in a service based organisation.

Bro I know it’s tough right now but you are doing your best and you should try to have a conversation with your manager.

What strategies have you tried so far to manage the workload and communicate your concerns to your client?

Don’t stress buddy, has happened to almost everyone at some point of time. Keep at it and try to send regular updates. Keep the key stakeholders on those emails not just your “wonderful” manager. As simple as it may sound, this has worked and continues to work for more and more people, it helps define boundaries and help buy time while you peck away slowly. One more thing, if there are more folks from other teams needed to be involved don’t shy away from doing that, as you might overburden yourself.

Notice period negotiation
I resigned from my current company a couple of days ago. I have a 90 day notice period. I tried to talk with the HR of my current company. HR is ready to give the "buy out" option and I am also ok with it. But for the "buy out" to happen, HR needs something officially written from my manager that I do...

Job Offer Dilemma
I’m in a situation and need some guidance.I have a job offer with:CTC: 9.4 LPA fixed + 21% variable = 11.4 LPA total.Location: Chennai (not ideal for me).Another opportunity is in the pipeline, with a more suitable location, but the expected CTC is around 9.4 LPA, which is significantly lower than the first offer. To add to the dilemma, the HR of the second company feels that asking for 12 LPA (considering my 9.4 LPA fixed offer) is too high. How would you approach this decision? Should I prioriti...
