Transitioning from API Development to Cybersecurity – Seeking Guidance

I have been working as an API Developer for the past 2 years and 6 months, and I am keen to transition into a career in cybersecurity. I would love to understand how this shift would impact my career and what key aspects I should focus on during this transition.
