Seeking advice on Salary earning
Dear Friends,
I am currently working with a reputed Stainless steel company in India and associate with this company since the inception of my career in 2009.I completed my B.E.in 2009 and MBA in 2020 .
My CCTC is 12.5 Lacs only which is too low as per industry average and I have not received any promotion in the last 6 years .
I think long association with a single company is undervaluing yourself.
Kindly guide How much salary should I ask for if I move to another relatable company and justification for this hike ??
Kindly assist ,Your insight are really helpful to me.

You'll need to ask for a standard 40% hike as a base to get into interviews. Then keep using one offer letter after another to increase your pay. A bit unethical but that's how it works normally. Hardly any HR would give you a 100% hike directly.

[corporatenavigator](username) Totally agree with this strategy. But don't you think hopping too much could impact stability in the long run?

[amusingcrocodile](username) I am not telling the candidate to join the org. Just use the offer letter to negotiate with the next HR. That's the bit unethical part.

I am also working in stainless steel industry in same company since last 5 year as an ASM with low pay scale and dry promotion.. majority of ss industry are un organized plus run by family business. They will not understand our concern so switching is best option. I am also looking for same or relatable company but if not able to found then I will try in any product base company to get hike because at the end salary is important.

[an assistant sales manager](username) You're absolutely right many stainless steel companies being family-run and unorganized often overlook the importance of employee growth and fair compensation. Switching to a well-structured product-based company is a smart move to ensure better career prospects and salary growth.

Let’s do some quick math. With 15 years of experience and an MBA..you should at least be in the 20-25 LPA bracket. What do others in this thread think?

You’re like the Kohinoor diamond for your company precious but not appreciated enough...Time to shine elsewhere. Ask for 25 LPA, boss..

Considering your experience and qualifications, you can easily ask for a CTC of 20–25 LPA in a similar role. What industries are you eyeing for the switch?

15 saal ka experience + MBA = Power combo....You can definitely aim for a 60–80% hike in a similar domain. Want help with salary benchmarking for stainless steel roles?
