I’m new to working in IT, and today I saw everyone panicking about something. The word Zero Day kept popping up.

I found out that Zero Day is a term used when a security flaw or backdoor is discovered by hackers, but there are no fixes or patches yet. It’s essentially a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Turns out, hackers were already in the system, stealing data. Everything was so chaotic, with developers working tirelessly to patch it.

Have you ever faced something like this? How do you prepare for the unseen? Any ideas?

I have been working in the same company for the last 5 years. My salary went from 3.6 LPA to 8 LPA over the years. I recently put papers, and, started giving interviews. I got an offer from TCS for 15 LPA(12.8 fixed). For more than a month, I've been giving interviews, asking for 18 LPA and many HRs are rejecting straight away, citing it is more than 100% hike from my current CTC. I kept trying and now I am selected for 5 companies - Iris Software, Capgemini, Quantzig Analytics, PwC, HCL, Infinite. Salary discussions are about to start and I'm confused. I'm not good at this. Can anyone suggest?

Career Advice

I'm presently working with Cognizant at a package of 5.08 LPA remotely with almost 4 yrs of experience in  Service Desk.Recently I've received an offer from HCL as a Senior Analyst at a package of 7.2 LPA in Service desk domain but it would be 5 days work from office .

I feel that the package is a bit low in HCL as I would be working from the office all days of the week.And also I might be due for promotion in Cognizant in March 2025 which might raise my package to 7 LPA

There's also a 12 month service-bond agreement with HCL

Kindly advice on what I'm supposed to do
