My First Encounter with a Zero Day

I’m new to working in IT, and today I saw everyone panicking about something. The word Zero Day kept popping up. I found out that Zero Day is a term used when a security flaw or backdoor is discovered by hackers, but there are no fixes or patches yet. It’s essentially a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Turns out, hackers were already in the system, stealing data. Everything was so chaotic, with developers working tirelessly to patch it. Have you ever faced something like this? How do you prepare for the unseen? Any ideas?
