Job Switch deliemma due to being benched
I was hired in July 2023 through clg placement and have successfully completed my probation and got the confirmation letter as well but for the past few months, I feel I am being benched. FYI this is my first job. My manager talks to me and gives me miniscule amount of task very rarely and not challenging enough. He's at a very senior position of format I can't disclose. Sometimes days go by where I just come to the office and do absolutely nothing. He's good friends with the HRBP so if I complained My manager would surely find out and I'd be screwed. My L2 is absolutely not approachable, he doesn't even know my name.
Although my total work ex is 1+ years what should I do stay or start looking elsewhere?

Before looking outside, exhaust all internal options. Network with colleagues in other departments or explore opportunities for lateral moves within the company.

I know you've already tried talking to your manager and haven't seen results, please consider escalating the issue to your HR representative or L2 manager, even if you're concerned about your manager's friendship with the HRBP. Sometimes, a formal complaint can trigger a change.
