Is WFH Losing Its Appeal?

While the pandemic popularized work-from-home (WFH) arrangements, there's growing evidence that this trend might be starting to wane. Wipro's recent decision to lease significant office space in Mumbai and Gurugram, despite offering WFH options to employees, suggests a shift in preferences. The end of the WFH era may be near. As businesses reassess their remote work policies, it's crucial to evaluate the long-term implications of this shift. Are you prepared to adapt to a potential return to the office or a hybrid work model?

I guess, extended periods of remote work can lead to feelings of isolation and reduced social interaction for some employees

Work from Home is best as there are many people who pay half of their salary as rent and even if you want a social connect in office then you can organize team outings so that employees can gel up.

While WFH is very much appealing and definitely has a lot of pros in terms of looking at saving few bucks, the only and quite significant cons that contribute to WFH is the negligible physical interaction between people, accompanied by communication challenges, unless people have a lot of meetings every week.

I have seen 100's of people who were working from home till now have came from 10 cigrattes per day to 3 or 4 per day because of WFH also, if company takes care of commuting to office everyone will definitely consider WFO, BTW those who initiated about productivity in WFO its a funny statement, I have never seen productivity increase or decrease in the office/home its stable. As per my perspective The only thing I love WFH is that I can avoid Toxic office environment and I feel loneliness whenever I go to office.

WFH is good where the company's environment is good, but if it is bad then u will feel stuck and want to quit every day. I am doing wfh, but people think u r doing nothing and people pressure u like u r a slave, and expect u to work 16 hours a day.

It's tough to juggle work as it is and not to mention handling a home is back breaking work. When you put em together it becomes a little too much to bear. Your productivity declines and not just that you cannot give in your 100% to the tasks assigned to you. So IMHO , WFH seems to be a raw deal for me
