Is it ok to join a mid size organization which did layoff 1 year back ??

I got an offer from a startup which did mass layoff last year , Is it wise decision to join here for managerial position or to stay in current organization after salary negotiation . Please advise.

Is the company stable, or are there underlying issues that could lead to future layoffs ?

Yar I feel joining a startup with a past mass layoff can be risky, so weigh the potential for growth and stability against your current role and salary negotiation before deciding.

It's hard to say, as the company might or might not engage in reckless hiring and firing again. It really depends on what you need and your current circumstances. A colleague of mine left McKinsey to join a startup in Bangalore. Unfortunately, the startup faced challenges shortly after, and he was forced into a sales role in a "take it or leave it" situation. Fortunately, he soon received an offer from his current company and made the switch.

Would try to avoid if I were you. Lay offs are pathetic for careers.
