Is it legal to use AI generated art to sell merchandise?🤔
Zomato Bans Fake Food Pics! CEO Deepinder Goyal says no to AI food images. Zomato will start removing such photos by the end of the month and offer partner restaurants a photoshoot service at a pass-through cost.
The ban on AI-generated images also extends to Zomato's marketing team, prohibiting further use of such content.
Real food pics only from now on. But can AI art still sell products?😐

I wonder how would they pull this of. Detect an AI generated image. Meta tried to do this with a label whenever a post is made on Instagram, but it was not at all accurate giving "AI Info" label on posts that were not at all AI generated.

TBH, AI pictures looks fake and anyone with brain can Spot the difference. Last week I was searching for a burger on Zomato and a 3 star rated restaurant pops up with AI generated burger images, It was good until i saw its reviews with photos and moved on

That's a great decision by Zomato because these restaurants received the orders because of the Ai Images and obviously it is equivalent to cheating their customers. So now on customer will see the real pictures of the dishes that they are ordering.
